Walker and Emma met at the speakeasy, Unknown Caller, in Chattanooga, TN. Although they had grown up within 25 minutes of each other and both attended UGA, their paths never crossed until a pandemic brought them both back to their hometowns. The spark was instant — Emma ordered overpriced cocktails and Walker (having lost his wallet) paid in cash which was very impressive.

They were immediately inseparable. From going on dates day after day to weekend trips to Atlanta and the beach, they soon realized they were done for. They'd never go on a first date again.

Walker's first gift to Emma was a book and her first gift to him was a six-pack of Miller Lite. It was a match made in Heaven. Fast forward and they were committed to doing long distance, literally traveling the world to see each other. That proved to be too boring, so they decided to make their home together in Barbados.

When Emma had first visited Barbados (back when she would have to travel to the West Indies from Paris), Walker took her to his favorite spot on the island. It was the northernmost point of the country, enveloped by jagged cliffs, crashing waves, and clear-blue water. It was magical. When Emma moved in months later, he took her back to that spot. After she took a potty break behind a rock, he got down on one knee. After saying some words too explicit to be shared with family, she said yes.

They can't wait to be back in the United States and to live with their cat, Sirius, and to be within driving distance of a Trader Joe's, but as for right now, they are loving the island life.
