When we first met

We first met at a party when I was 17 and Sean was a "cool" 18 year old. Our love story is a classic romantic one like every movie (eye roll). We danced to "Sexy Bitch" by David Guetta and Sean refused to buy me a drink because he had to save his money for going out on the town later.

We started hanging out and Sean asked me to be his girlfriend one day in the library where I responded "Are you joking?!?!? Ok you're not, yeh ok then."

He said he loved me after 2 weeks and I quickly responded with "No you don't" to which he said back "No I guess I don't, but I will one day" .... Turns out he was right!

Uni days

In 2012, Sean and I made the big move to Hobart for Uni. In our first year we both moved into Christ College and submerged ourselves into college life.

One distinct memory I have (well many a hazy memory in reality) was a time where I may have overindulged in the SuperGoo (goon mixed with Gatorade) at a Uni barrel. I found myself unwell on the Uni campus when all I could muster was a "H" for help to Sean in a text message. The next thing I know Sean had arrived to take me back up the hill to college. When we got back I realised that I was missing an earring (they were a gift from Sean a couple of years ago). He then traipsed back down to college to find my missing earring and return it safely to me.

What. A. Hero.

Our first overseas holiday

We eased ourselves into international travel with a trip to New Zealand in 2013 (not that you can tell it is Sean in the photo).

We flew into Christchurch and hired a car to drive down to Queenstown, via Franz Joseph Glacier and Wanaka. From Wanaka we spent a couple of days snowboarding and skiing at Cardrona.

We ended the trip in the beautiful Queenstown and since then NZ has been a country we are looking forward to exploring more.

European holiday

Our biggest adventure yet! In 2016 we spent eight weeks travelling around Europe and the UK. We started in London and then visited Paris, Amsterdam, Berlin, spent a week exploring Switzerland before venturing into Italy where we visited Lake Como, Venice, Florence, Rome, Cinque Terre and then finished the trip in Nice and Barcelona before returning back to London.

There were lots of smiles, laughs, a few tears (when I got lost a couple of times), too many photos and copious amounts of wine, pizza, pasta, tapas, sangria and paella.

Vietnam

In 2018 we headed off in the middle of the year to Vietnam.

We spent just over 2 weeks exploring this beautiful country with plenty of relaxing along the way.

The highlights were the lanterns in Hoi An, our resort stay and Halong Bay. And of course the food was amazing!

Sri Lanka

Sri Lanka was our fourth overseas holiday and our 12th country we had visited together.

Being the experienced travellers that we now were we didn't plan too much prior to leaving Australia giving us a bit more flexibility to where we went and how long we stayed in each spot for. That was all well and good until the last night when we nearly missed our international flight home due to a rouge Uber driver!

Sri Lanka really does have it all! We started in Colombo before making our way to Sigiriya and the Cultural Triangle where you can find wild elephants roaming on the side of the road, buddhist temples and ancient monasteries.

We then travelled into the hill country on the local trains, that has AMAZING views across the hill country and tea plantations and only costs 99c a ticket. However we missed our first train and for four hours of another journey we stood in the middle of the isle crammed in with our packs and other tourists and couldn't see a thing! Lucky the views were so good!

One of our favourite days of our trip was when we hiked up Adam's peak at 2am to see the sunrise from the top. The hike consisted of 5,500 steps and hundreds of locals and tourists, but the view from the top was stunning and well worth the walk.

We finished our trip relaxing on the southern beaches, eating the best seafood (actually the food across all of Sri Lanka was amazing), surfing, swimming with turtles and watching the amazing sunsets.

THE BEST HOLIDAY!

Freddie

When we returned home from our holiday to Sri Lanka we decided we were ready to start a family. We found Freddie one day on gumtree while we were having coffee at Gastown and next thing we know we were at the airport waiting for a puppy we had never met to get off the plane.

I remember being so nervous and I said to Sean "I am so nervous, this is how I used to feel before my exams." Sean responded with "I never felt like this before my exams, only after them".

We picked Fred up and he was the most pawfect ball of floof anyone had ever seen.

He is also known as Fred Man, Frederick, Mr Wonderful, Floofy, Sweetheart, Handsome (and that is just what Sean calls him!)

Some of his favourite things are going to the beach, hanging out with Arlo, chewing socks and stealing female underwear from the clothes horse (lucky he lives with 4 women!)

The engagement

Sean planned on epic weekend away for the three of us to a fancy Airbnb south of Hobart that was puppy friendly. We ate lots of yummy food, drunk lots of gin and decided to get married...

HOW BLOODY EXCITING!!

We can't wait to see all of you on ...

Edit: March 27th 2021!

Our first wedding date

So then a global pandemic happened and it meant we had to make the call to postpone our wedding within two weeks of our date :(

The decision in the end was easy. For us it is so important to us to have all of the people that we love there and even more importantly than that we wanted to make sure our friends and family were safe and healthy.

We know it will just make the day all the more sweeter when it rolls around!
