One of our favorite things about moving to Tennessee has been all the amazing places to hike. We've done a number of hikes that end in waterfalls where we will set up our hammock and relax before hiking back.
We got to the end of the hike and walked out into the middle of the stream beneath the waterfall. As Dan began to take a knee in the stream, Lauren questioned why Dan would decide the middle of a river was a good place to sit down. As Taco watched from the shore, Lauren got over her confusion and said yes!
On the streets of Boston in 2008...
Lauren and her friend, Judith, were walking home from Mission Hill. A car drove by them and honked at them to get their attention. As they scoffed at the car, Dan ran up from behind and said "Actually, they were honking at me". They proceeded to talk the whole way back to campus, and the rest was history.
At home in February 2017...
Lauren: I'm on Free-Craigslist looking for a couch but I found a posting for a dog.
Dan: We're not getting a dog, we need a couch
Lauren: He seems really sweet, can we meet him?! Can we?!
Dan: Okay fine
In the car on the way to meet the dog...
Lauren: What if this ends up being our dog? This is so exciting!!!!
Dan: Lauren, calm down, this is the first dog we're seeing. This is just the start, there are lots of fish in the sea.
After meeting him we got back in the car...
Dan: Let's take him home, he's perfect.
Dan and Lauren wanted to spend as much time with their loved ones as possible, so they devised a plan to trap them all in the Berkshires for a whole weekend at a beautiful summer camp with special meaning to Dan.
