We would recommend guests stay in one of two locations in Charleston: either at one of the hotels near the airport, or downtown in the Historic District/French Quarter. A majority of our guests will be at Residence Inn near the airport!

There are many options for hotels near the airport, and they tend to be much cheaper than the hotels in downtown. We will be providing a shuttle service for the morning wedding and evening reception on Saturday only for guests staying near the airport (it will pick guests up and drop them off at the Residence Inn by Marriott Charleston Airport Hotel).

Though the hotels in downtown are more expensive, they do offer you to be walking distance from many great bars, restaurants, and other attractions that charleston has to offer. We will not be providing transportation to the venues from downtown hotels. Founder's Hall is about a 15 minute drive from downtown charleston, and to get there guests staying downtown will need to either use a ridesharing service such as Uber or Lyft, or will need to drive (there is ample free parking at Founder's Hall). The Gaillard Center, which is where our reception Saturday night will be held, is located right in downtown and will be a 10-20 minute walk (depending on where you stay) or a short 2 minute drive (there is garage parking for $5).

$189 for One Bedroom Suite (1 King or 2 Queens; 1 bathroom)

$239 for Two Bedroom Suite (1 Queen in each room; 2 bathroom)



Each 1 and 2 bedroom suites come with a separate living area with TV, pullout sofa, and fully equipped kitchen.

This hotel is right across from the Residence Inn. Though we do not have a hotel block here, it is another great option at a similar price, and our shuttle pickup spot will be a short walk away.

If you would like to stay downtown, this is a comfortable, affordable option in a great location. It is close to the french quarter, and also a 10 minute walk from our reception venue the Gaillard Center

For the Haldi on Friday, please plan to arrange your own ride to the event. 

We will be providing transportation to the Wedding and the Reception for guests staying near the airport. Pickup and drop-off will be to and from the Residence Inn by Marriott Charleston Airport

If you have some downtime during your trip, we’d recommend heading to downtown Charleston to explore the city!

Historic Tour on Horse Carriage

Rainbow Row in the French Quarter

For food and drink, some good options include:

SHIKI (sushi spot)

Oyster House Seafood Restaurant

MudHouse (Coffee shop)

DO NOT GO TO HYMANNS - Tourist trap with long wait and mediocre food. Not worth the hype (despite what the owner claims)

A majority of our guests will be staying at Residence Inn near the airport. If you prefer to stay downtown, please look at the Charleston Guide for our recommendations!

Is there parking available?

Both hotels listed above, Founder's Hall (wedding venue), and Gaillard Center (reception hall) all have parking.

What should I wear?

Please see our Indian clothing guide section if you would like to wear Indian clothes. Otherwise, please wear yellow/red/pink for the Haldi, and business formal for wedding and reception.
