Ashli's Side of the Story

Quintin and I met virtually first. We are what some like to call a successful “slide in dms” love story. Once Q came back from California we had our first date at Savage Pizza in Little Five Points. I remember Quintin being so nervous to make any kind of move,  I could have also sworn he hired like 3 random people to tell us that we were a cute couple. Mind you it was our first date. By our second date Q asked me to be his girlfriend. I hesitated at first, but took a leap of faith and have been blissfully happy since.

After 8 years of traveling, eating, and thrifting together Quintin proposed August 7, 2021. All I knew is that I was celebrating getting my masters degree that weekend, not a wedding proposal as well. It was one of the best weekends in my entire life, and I am so thankful Quintin wasn’t afraid to message me “go to bed”.

Quintin's Side of the Story

I met Ashli at such a transitional time in life. I had just moved back home after transferring from Tuskegee to Georgia State. At the time I remember hanging out with my friends at plaza and maybe exchanging glances once or twice. I never forget a face. She was tall and I remember that her short hair stuck out to me. She also has these doe like eyes that kinda mesmerize you when she looks in your direction. Fast forward some time and a chaotic date auction, I found myself on vacation with family in California. I’m up late night and my phone starts blowing up. It’s her. She liked a few pictures of mine on Instagram around midnight my time which had to be around 3 AM her time. I remember thinking to myself “That’s oddly late to be up. Let’s see what she’s up to.” That DM conversation turned into text message conversations, that eventually turned into phone conversations, and before I knew it I felt like I had known her my entire life! We were probably up until the sun came up that night and I knew when I got back home I was excited to meet her. Everything moved so fast. We went on a couple of dates, the first being Little 5 Points, and we both remembered so many random people telling us we looked so well together. I think I kinda knew at that point that I wanted to be with her. She eventually said yes to being my girlfriend and I’ve been in love with her from that day on. Since then we’ve travelled across the country, eaten some of the best foods I’ve ever tasted, and watched every Disney movie together. We’ve traversed a rainforest, camped in the deep woods, and built various Ikea furniture pieces. I couldn’t imagine spending my life with anyone else …and luckily I’ll never have to.
