There are many different ways to get to Key West. When looking at flights, we recommend pricing out options for multiple different airports to try and get the best value!
Key West International Airport (EYW)
The most convenient way to get to Key West is to fly into Key West Airport. Once you arrive, you're just a short 10 minute drive to Duval Street, the heart of Key West. We recommend taking an Uber or Lyft from the airport, instead of renting a car.
Miami International Airport (MIA)
Miami Airport is located 126 miles from Key West. If you're looking to fly into MIA you'll need to rent a car and drive down to Key West. It's about a 3 hour drive from Miami, but it's a beautiful ride with open water views on both sides of the road. There are also some affordable bus options available to get from Miami to Key West (details below).
Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport (FLL)
Similar to flying into Miami, Fort Lauderdale Airport is just a 3.5 hour drive from Key West.
Greyhound
Don't want to rent a car and drive down to Key West? Take a Greyhound bus from Miami Airport to Key West! Its a 4.5 hour journey, but there's free wifi on board to keep you busy. One way tickets from Miami International Airport to Key West are only $19!
If you're coming from Florida, and don't want to do the drive down to Key West, look no further than the Key West Express Ferry! Departing from Fort Myers, this cruising catamaran will have you in Key West in 3.5 hours. Sit back, relax, and enjoy the ride with an on-deck bar, food, TV's, comfy chairs, and plenty of scenic views.
Round trip ticket prices are around $180.
If you are flying into Key West Airport and staying near Duval Street, there isn't a need to book a rental car. Key West is walker friendly (and not so much parking friendly), but if there's somewhere that's just a little too far, you can order an Uber or Lyft!
If you're driving in from Miami or other parts of Florida, we would recommend dropping off the rental car once arriving to Key West. You can then Uber from the rental car drop-off location.
Duval Loop Bus
The Duval Loop Bus is free and frequent! If you don't feel like walking, biking, or taking an Uber while in Key West, you can hop on and off the Duval Loop Bus for free!
The bus service makes 16 stops along the way, and runs every 15 minutes from 11 a.m. - midnight.
