ENJOY THE REGION
Things to do in the region
Vicenza is Located in Veneto, a beautiful region famous for Prosecco's production, lots of good wine, beautiful hills and art cities. Here are all the things to do if you want to stay closer than 2 hours from the Hotel:
VENICE
Venice is about 45 minutes by train from Vicenza. The cost for the ticket is less than 10 euros. Is a day trip and all you have to do from the train station is getting lost in the beautiful narrow streets.
PADOVA
Padova is about 25 minutes from Vicenza's train station. Is the perfect city where to enjoy a Spritz in downtown and some shopping. I highly recommend to go check out the "cappella degli Scrovegni" entirely painted by Giotto, one of the most famous artists of all times, and the botanical garden.
VERONA
Verona is about 1 hour by train from Vicenza. It's called the city of love, because is the city where Romeo and Juliet's romance tooked place. I love verona because it looks like a pocket version of Rome. A small Colosseo to admire, a lot of roman history, good food, and beautiful views. In the Arena di Verona (the small colosseum of Veneto) you can also attend authentic Italian Opera.
LAKE GARDA
Lake Garda is about 1 hour by train from Vicenza. It is one of the most beautiful lakes in Europe and it's worth at least a Day trip. From Vicenza train station you can reach Peschiera del Garda, which is one of the most famous towns of the lake. From there you can decide either to stay local, if renting a boat for the day and go explore or if taking a bus to other destinations such as Sirmione, Lazise o Torri del Benaco. You can never go wrong with Lake Garda
MURANO AND BURANO
Venice has two unique outer islands, Murano and Burano. Murano is known for its colored glass and Burano is known for its colored architecture. Both destinations are sure to cheer you up on any given day. Murano and Burano are the northern doors of Venice. They only accessible only by boat. The majority of tourists will travel first to Murano and then to Burano. Being the *smart* travelers that YOU are, you should outsmarted the typical tourists and did the opposite. You can hop on a Vaporetto for the 30 minute ride to Burano (from any Vaporetto stop, which is the water bus). It is a beautiful, breezy boat ride across the wide open seas. As you near the island of Burano, you immediately spot the rows of colored houses and understand why it is named as one of the 10 most colorful places in the world. From Burano, you then can venture 20 minutes by boat to Murano. Walk along the canals, window shopping at each glass shop.
VALDOBBIADENE
Valdobbiadene is a town in the province of Treviso located at an hour drive from Vicenza. Valdobbiadene is the city from where the Prosecco Production comes from. There Is organized tours and Vans you can book to get from Vicenza to Valdobbiadene. It Is surrounded by foothills and wineries and the views in Valdobbiadene are definitely my favorites.
