Travel Info + Suggestions
Walla Walla is approx. 260 miles SE of Seattle, near the Oregon border. On an average day, it takes around 4.5 hours to drive.
If you're up for it, consider driving so that you have a car to get around Walla Walla. You can stop along the way at one of the many of the wonderful WA wineries or breweries!
If you'd rather skip the road trip, Alaska Airlines has a quick and easy flight from Seattle to the Walla Walla regional airport (ALW). Flights average around $100 each way.
The airport is very close to town, about a 10 min drive. Many of the hotels offer complimentary shuttles to/from.
Feel free to bring your children to enjoy Walla Walla, however, we are limiting the ceremony and reception to adults only.
If you are interested in babysitting services, please contact our wedding planner Kasey Davenport and she will do her best to help organize. kasey@kaseydweddings.com
Thanks to a truly unique combination of climate, character, charm, and culture, the Walla Walla Valley has become home to one of the finest wine regions in the nation, with 120 wineries and 2,800 acres of grapes.
Walla Walla wineries and tasting rooms are distributed across five main districts: Downtown, Southside, Westside, Airport, and Eastside districts. Each district has its own distinct feel, yet all combine to make Walla Walla Valley a wine country unmatched by any other.
There are tons to choose from, so feel free to research and find wineries that sound great to you, but if you're not interested in choosing your own adventure, below are a few we have found and love.
If you're interested in exploring on your own, here's a great resource: wallawalla.org/wineries
Of course we ADORE àMaurice Cellars and you're welcome to swing by, however our ceremony and reception will be held there, so you should get your fix on the big day.
Gramercy Cellars is an 8,000-case winery founded in 2005 by Master Sommelier Greg Harrington and his wife, Pam, to make Rhône and Bordeaux based wines in Washington State. Gramercy believes that great wines share common traits: great vineyards, small production, minimalist winemaking, time, and patience. The resultant wines display balance, intense fruit notes, strong earthiness, restraint, and elegance. www.gramercycellars.com
*Side note: Gramercy's tasting room is very small. Petite size groups are best here (or be prepared to split up for seating).
L’Ecole N° 41 is a third generation family-owned, artisan winery located in the historic Frenchtown School depicted on their label. Founded in 1983, they were the third winery established in the Walla Walla Valley. www.lecole.com
*Side note: Their tasting room is darling and has capacity for larger groups. They also have really cute branded swag!
Tranche is devoted to crafting expressive, aromatic and beautifully defined wines. From deeply textured reds that convey the unique character of the land, to elegant whites and rosé that offer a new-World interpretation of classic Rhône blends, they strive to make every bottle worthy of your attention. www.tranche.wine
Three Rivers Winery has been producing handmade wines since 1999, from the remote and arid Columbia Valley AVA in Eastern Washington. Their style is defined by moderate alcohols, firm structures, and varietal accuracy and the wines are concentrated, ripe and juicy without being overblown or heavy-handed. www.threeriverswinery.com
*Side note: Tasting room and grounds are large (lawn games aplenty) - good for groups!

There’s much more to Walla Walla than the incredible wines. With plenty of sunshine year-round, Walla Walla is the perfect place to enjoy the outdoors - mountains, rivers and trails. Downtown Walla Walla offers an exploration of a more sophisticated nature, with numerous boutiques, museums and cultural activities.
A great resource for activities and things to consider while in town can be found here: wallawalla.org/things-to-do/
