Pafuri Camp
Pafuri Luxury Tented Camp is situated in the Makuleke Contract Park in the north of the Kruger National Park. This comfortable luxury safari accommodation stretches along the Luvuvhu River on raised wooden walkways. The camp has 19 designer tents with en-suite bathrooms including indoor and outdoor showers. There are seven ‘family tents’ that sleep families of four. All the tents offer gorgeous views over the Luvuvhu River. A bush bar, swimming pool and al-fresco dining area offer everyday entertainment, and there’s plenty of space to unwind beneath the branches of the giant trees embracing the camp.
An extraordinary wildlife experience awaits. Large herds of elephant roam the area together with healthy populations of buffalo, antelope, leopard, hyena and more. Due to its fantastic riverside location Pafuri Camp is also the destination of choice for avid birders and guests are regularly treated to sightings of rare species including the elusive Pels Fishing Owl.
Budget Friendly Accommodation for the 13th
The camp is situated in the Sandveld region that is often described as the botanical garden of the Kruger National Park. There are numerous plant species which occur that are unique to the area. Game species most likely to be sighted include impala, zebra, buffalo, elephant, eland and sable and the area is a bird paradise.
Just over an hour away from the Makuleke, Pafuri region it is a short drive there and back with potentially a lot of game viewing along the way. If booked it is important to note that all gate closing times must be strictly adhered to which is why we are holding the ceremony and reception within these hours.
Budget Friendly Accommodation
Awelani Lodge is situated near Pafuri Gate (just 12 km’s away) and Tshikondeni (25km’s away) at the northern section of Kruger National Park in South Africa. The Lodge offers self-catering chalets, bungalows, safari tents as well as a camping site and an on-site restaurant and pub. Situated in a 1700 hectare conservancy, Awelani provides visitors an outstanding opportunity to walk or mountain bike through a wooded conservancy with a remarkable arrange of trees, Baobab, Mopani and Lobombo Ironwood to name a few.
Sandstone outcrops hide what is probably San and Khoi rock art and traditional Venda grain storage units. A purpose-built birdhide and waterhole offers outstanding bird watching. A sightings list of over 700 birds confirms this Pafuri area destination is an excellent site for twitchers.
