Our story began back in 2018, although back then it wasn't quite yet a love story...
We first met on Liz's third day in South Africa, as we were also meeting all of our EcoTraining colleagues for the very first time. To be completely honest, we don't actually remember meeting each other - hows that for a beginning?!

Fast forward to a few months in and the romance of Africa slowly creeps in, and let me tell you friends, khaki fever is very real! I mean, how can you not completely fall in love with a tall, strong, smart, brown haired, green eyed, nature lover who already knows so much about the bush, I mean seriously?

Three and a half years of memories later and we've already had some of the most incredible experiences of our lifetime together! From walking through South Africa's most remote and pristine wilderness areas amongst lions and elephants to kissing under the stars next to the dam we've spent all day with the hippos and fish eagles, to working with some of Africa's greatest, these have been some of our most cherished years!

Corlius finally popped the question on the way back to Nelspruit after picking me up from Greater Kruger. We had planned the entire time to stop by some of the panorama route lookouts because we haven't been there in a while and it is just too stunning to miss out on the opportunity! Corlius quite literally let me choose where we got engaged without me even knowing as I knew we were going to go to one of these gorgeous spots! I chose the Three Rondavals as this is one of my favorite views. It puts life into perspective...how tiny we as humans really are, yet how big of an impact we can truly have. Anyways, we went to a private little lookout as I had always told Corlius I dream of our engagement to be an intimate moment between himself and I. We spoke a bit about life and everything in between and just taking the scenery in. We threw rocks off the cliff and each it scared us a bit more to imagine we were the rocks we were throwing. The next minute Corlius opens his arms out for me to come stand next to him, he gets down on one knee and says some beautiful words and pops the question! The rest were special moments that are so hard to put into words but are memories I will have for the rest of my life.
We are so grateful for all the love and support we have received from all you beautiful people and now you will be apart of our story!
xx
