Maui, also known as the Valley Isle, is the second largest Hawaiian island. Made up of two volcanoes, the West Maui Mountains in the...west and Haleakala to the east.

The Wedding and all other events will take place in Up Country Maui. Nestled near the clouds of Haleakala.

...so where should you stay?

We highly suggest looking for an Airbnb or Bed & Breakfast in Upcountry Maui: Makawao, Kula, Keokea, Pukalani, Paia, and Haiku are all great places to stay and close to the venue.

But, Kristen and Matt, we came to Maui to be by the BEACH!!! We totally understand and if that's the case here are your options.

The beach side resorts, and main tourist destinations, are all located on the south side of the island. Wailea, Kihei, and Makena. Some favorites of ours are, The Marriott Wailea, Andaz Maui, and The Grand Wailea (Matt used to, and still does, sneak into their pool) Wailea Ekahi & Elua Villages are great for larger groups.

If you choose to stay at any of these places BE AWARE that the wedding venue is at least an hour drive away

We highly suggest AGAINST staying in Lahaina. All be it a beautiful part of the island Lahaina is as far away from Upcountry Maui as you can get. There's also a slight chance you get stuck out there due to wild fires or landslides.

Getting around

You'll need to rent a car.

Getting around on Maui is easy, there's only a handful of multi lane highways, but getting from one place to the next can take time. As such, Ubers, Lyfts, and Taxis are almost non existent and if you happen to get in one it'll cost just as much as having your own car for the day.

All this being said. Carpool. Any open seat someone else has is yours. We're all here for a good time and we will figure out how to get you where you need to be.
