Kristen and Peter met on April 27, 2014 at a Kappa Alpha (KA) Fraternity Mixer. Shortly after, Peter invited Kristen out on their first date at Katy Trail Ice House. They spent the night talking about their families, friends, goals and aspirations... They just clicked.
With only a few weeks until SMU finals and summer vacation, Kristen and Peter spent the next two weeks going on dates nearly every other day. It was a whirlwind! Before summer began, Kristen and Peter decided on long-distance with Kristen interning in Roseville, California and Peter interning in Dublin, Ireland!
Kristen and Peter spoke every day. When Kristen underwent dental surgery that summer, Peter somehow managed to send Kristen a package full of Ben & Jerry's ice cream (from 5000+ miles away!) They were smitten...
After six years of dating, Peter was ready to propose. He spent months planning the perfect proposal for Kristen, secretly coordinating with their families and two of Kristen's best friends, Janelle and Lauren.
On the morning of October 5, 2019, Peter left to play a game of pick-up basketball with his friends. Kristen took the opportunity to enjoy a leisurely morning in her pajamas catching up on one of her favorites, Grey's Anatomy.
Little did Kristen know, Peter was actually picking up Janelle and Lauren from the airport! Two hours later, in ran her two best friends, leaving Kristen shocked. After a few hours, Kristen went from shocked, to confused, to suspicious, as Janelle and Lauren had the entire day planned.
Kristen, Janelle and Lauren spent the day getting their nails done, shopping and getting ready for a surprise "dinner". When it was time, Janelle and Lauren called an Uber and sent Kristen to a nearby park, where Peter was waiting... on one knee.
Through the sobs, Kristen said "Yes!"
