Travel Notes

Our wedding is in San Francisco city. If you are traveling to the Bay Area, it would be most convenient to stay in the city itself.  We have two discounted room blocks, which you can find more details about under the "Hotels" page.

Things to Do

There are a lot of things to check out in San Francisco. Some of the highlights in the city include Fisherman's Wharf, Golden Gate Park, Golden Gate bridge (the best views are from Battery Spencer across the bridge), Palace of Fine Arts, and Ghirardelli  Square.

Outside the city in the Bay Area, fun places to check out include Half Moon Bay, scenic hikes in state parks (El Corte De Madera Creek Preserve) along Skyline Drive, Stanford University campus, old Highway 1 along the Pacific Coast, and Santana Row in Santa Clara.

Short trips nearby can be taken to Napa Valley (1.5 hr drive), Pinnacles National Park (2 hr drive), Monterrey and Carmel-By-The-Sea (2 hr drive), or Yosemite National Park (3.5 hr drive).

San Francisco International Airport

SFO

SFO is the closet airport to our wedding. It is about 13 miles south of San Francisco and is about a 20 minute drive. It is also connected to San Francisco by the BART train and the CalTrain. The airport is served by most major international and domestic carriers.

Oakland International Airport

OAK

OAK is the next closest airport to San Francisco. It is on the east side of the bay and is about 20 miles away. By car, it is roughly 30 minutes away. It is also connected to the city by the BART train. The airport is served by most domestic carriers, with the exception of United.

Norman Y. Mineta San Jose International Airport

SJC

SJC is the third airport serving the Bay Area. It is about 45 miles south of San Francisco. By car it will take about 50 minutes into the city. There can be cheaper airfare flying into SJC versus SFO. The airport is served by most domestic carriers. Select international carriers serve SJC including Air Canada, ANA, British Airways, and Hainan Airlines.
