Frequently Asked Questions
When is the RSVP Deadline?
Please provide a preliminary RSVP by February 25, 2022. A final RSVP is due by April 1, 2022 so we can have a final headcount for the venue.
Can I bring a date?
Your plus one information can be found on your wedding invitation. While we encourage our friends and family to turn their visit to Aruba into a vacation, the ceremony, cocktail hour and reception are invitation only! If guests wish to participate in other weekend events, they are more than welcome. If you have any questions, please get in contact with Lauren at Lauren@dillardsdoaruba.com.
Are kids welcome?
Yes! We encourage our friends and family to turn their visit to Aruba into a vacation, please check your invite for more information!
Do I have to stay at the host hotel (Hilton Aruba)? Is it all-inclusive?
Most of the wedding weekend events will take place at the Hilton Resort & Casino but guests can stay at a hotel of their choosing. The Hilton is not an all-inclusive resort so if wedding guests decide to stay at another hotel, they will still have access to the Hilton property.
If you choose to stay at the Hilton, a guest code for discounted room rates will be available June 1, 2021.
Note - While Aruba does have several all-inclusive resort options, we do not recommend choosing a resort that is all inclusive because the food in Aruba is amazing!
What will the weather be like?
The weather in Aruba is always sunny and warm! Aruba has a fairly consistent year round temperature in the 80's and very little rain. Although the trade winds provide a nice breeze to the island, Aruba can be quite hot! With Aruba's tropical climate, you will be comfortable in casual summer clothes with light evening wear for nighttime at restaurants and casinos.
Will the wedding have a dress code?
Yes, the wedding will have a beach formal dress code. Beach formal is dress to impress, but also dress for the elements (sun, sand and water). Examples of what to wear for ladies: formal maxi dress, sun dress, cocktail dress, etc. Examples of what to wear for gentleman: slacks and a collared shirt, linen suit, etc.
Calling all ladies! Do not wear stiletto heels. I repeat, do not wear stiletto heels. The wedding will take place on the beach and it may be difficult to walk in the sand in heels. Can't have any of you ruining nice shoes or breaking any ankles.
Is it ok to take pictures with our phones and cameras during the wedding?
Yes! We would love for you to take photos and share them on our app Joy or on social media with the hashtag #DillardsDoAruba. However, please refrain from taking photos during the ceremony.
How long do I need to stay in Aruba?
As long as you wish! We have a welcome mixer planned on Friday, May 13th from 6 pm - 8 pm and the wedding will take place on Saturday, May 14th from 6 pm - 11 pm. Joe and Lauren will be staying from Tuesday, May 10th through Tuesday, May 17th but you are welcome to stay as long or as short as you can. The couple has planned several optional events.
Are passports needed?
Yes! Since this is an international trip, you do need a passport valid at least 6 months past your travel dates. Passport cards are not valid for international air travel. If you have a passport, please be sure to check the expiration date. If you don't already have a passport, it is a good idea to apply early to be sure you receive it in time for your trip. Passports normally take up to 12 weeks to process so we suggest applying a minimum of 4 months in advance. Typically, the cost for a new passport is around $150. You can learn more about the passport process here: travel.state.gov/content/travel/en/passports/how-apply.html.
How do I stay up to date on events? Whom should I call with questions?
