Travelling into Chicago

Flights

O'Hare International Airport

We recommend travelling into O'Hare International Airport which is the closest airport to the Gupta home, wedding venues, and hotels. It is about a 15-20 minute drive from our home.

Midway International Airport

Midway International Airport is an alternate airport option which is closer to downtown Chicago. It is about a 45min - 1 hour drive from our home, hotel and wedding venues.

Things to Do

Millenium Park

Millennium Park is a must-see. Where you can see the famous Cloud Gate (aka "The Bean"), which is perfect for a fun photo op. The park also offers beautiful gardens, a reflecting pool, and outdoor art installations.
In August, there are often free concerts in the park's Pritzker Pavilion, making it a great spot to relax and enjoy some live music.

Lakeshore Drive Trail & Beaches

Take advantage of Chicago's beautiful summer weather by walking or biking along the Lakefront Trail, which spans 18 miles along Lake Michigan. You'll pass through several beaches, parks, and scenic views.

I recommend renting a bike and cycling along the trail from Chicago's north side near Lincoln Park down to the south Museum campus where you'll have an amazing view of the city from the Adler Planetarium. Lots of museums to check out in this area as well. Soldier Field where the Chicago Bears play is also on this campus.

If you're in the mood to relax, the city's beaches (like Oak Street Beach or North Avenue Beach) are perfect for a day of sun and sand.

Chicago River Architecture Tour

One of my favorite ways to see Chicago is by boat on a Chicago River Architecture tour. Tours are available during the day or night, and offers a unique perspective on the city's history and buildings. If you end up booking a spot at night you can see a stunning view of the lit-up skyline.

Chicago Food Tour

Chicago is known for its food scene, especially its deep-dish pizza, authentic tacos, and a diverse cuisine from all over the world. You can take a guided food tour to sample local favorites, or just visit famous spots like Pizzaria Uno or Due, Giordano's, or Lou Malnati’s for pizza or Portillo’s for a classic hot dog.

Chicago Willis (Sears) Tower Skydeck

For breathtaking views of Chicago, head to the Skydeck on the 103rd floor of the Willis Tower. The Ledge is a glass box that extends out from the building, giving you a thrilling view straight down.
