Airport options
Geneva airport: 40min from the wedding venue. This is the closest airport to the venue. The easiest way to get to the venue is by car. There are many car rental companies at the airport. Uber is also available in the area.
Lyon Airport (France): 1h30 from the wedding venue. Another option that's not too far away.
Zurich Airport (Switzerland): 3h30 from the wedding venue. This is a great option if you want to road trip through Switzerland before arriving at the wedding.
Wednesday: Lavaux and taste Swiss wine!
Thursday: Cruise on the Lake and transfer to wedding location (in France).
Zurich: Biggest city in Switzerland. Check the Bahnhofstrasse (street) if you like to do some expensive shopping.
Lucerne/Luzern: Cute old town - check the famous Kapellbrücke (bridge), the Rigi and Pilatus mountains, the lion monument and buy a Swiss watch ;).
Interlaken: Traditional swiss town, which is the entry door of the most iconic and scenic landscapes of the Oberland region (think green grass fields, mountains and cows). From there, you can do: Schynige Platte (mountain viewpoint), Wengen (alpine village), Lauterbrunnen (Instagram-friendly village with its iconic waterfalls), Jungfraujoch (highest mountain seen in James Bond movie lol), Oeschinensee and Blausee (beautiful blue lakes with breathtaking views).
Gruyère: Traditional Swiss region where you can try the famous cheese and the Cailler chocolate if you want to get high on sugar :)
Zermatt & Matterhorn: THE icon of Switzerland. The pointed peak shown on basically anything about Switzerland (yes, it's the mountain in this picture).
Ticino: The Italian-speaking part of Switzerland. If you have time to go there (3h from Zurich airport, 5h from Geneva), you should see the Valle Verzasca (if you wanna swim in a crystal clear river and visit cute old towns) and Locarno, a cute city on the lake Maggiore.
Lausanne: If you wanna visit Logitech ;) or more seriously, visit the Chillon Castle (the most visited monument in Switzerland - a castle literally on the lake Geneva), the UNESCO World Heritage Center of Lavaux (breathtaking winyards with a view and Jonas' favorite place in Switzerland!), the Olympic museum (because why not) and the cute town of Lausanne-Ouchy.
Geneva: Your second chance to buy a Swiss watch or some other luxurious items :) and see the famous Water Fountain. If you've nothing else to do, you can check the United Nations and visit the old town.
If you want to spend even more time in Switzerland, just ask us what else you can do :)
Go to France: Lyon is pretty close to Geneva and is one of the most important city for French cuisine... From Geneva or Lausanne, you can also take the speed train to Paris (only 2-3 hours depending on the train)
Switzerland has the most dense (and best ;)) railway system in the world, you should definitely use it! It's called SBB in German, CFF in French, FFS in Italian (now you know).
