It was a hot day at Rockridge Canyon 2013....
Connor and Emma were both at Rockridge Canyon, Connor as a leader to his kids, and Emma as the Sound Operator for that camp week. Emma was on her break and was hanging out with her friend, Claire, at her bead cart, when Connor decided to say come to say hi! What a coincidence that Connor and Claire have been friends for so long. At that moment, Connor knew he had fallen in love but Emma had no idea who he was and had no interest in getting to know this quiet and soft-spoken guy.
Cue 4 months later...
Connor's best friend Mike started dating this girl in Calgary. This girl happened to be best friends with Emma. Instead of making the trip to Calgary by himself, Mike invited Connor to join to keep him company on the drive, as well as forcing Connor and Emma to get to know one another. Emma knew that Connor would be going, and after seeing him interacting with mutual friends online, she decided to send him a message. Connor vows to this day that Emma began the flirting first, but Emma won't let him forget his awkward flirting at Rockridge!
After a couple of trips to Edmonton and a couple of trips to Calgary, Connor and Emma decided they wanted to pursue something together. However, Emma went to Europe for 5 weeks right after and so the love was put on pause. Following her return, they met up at a cowboy birthday party and decided to start dating.
Connor and Emma dated long distance for a whole year before Emma moved to Edmonton after she was accepted into the University of Alberta.
4 years later...
On June 24th, 2019, Connor got down on one knee during their photo shoot and asked Emma to marry him. She, of course, said yes and they are both excited to begin this new chapter of their lives together!
