It's the classic love story: boy meets girl during a global pandemic over a dating app, sends a "virtual rose" to win over her heart, and eventually has a first date over FaceTime while in a different country. Weeks later they would meet in person (wearing masks, of course) at a clandestine sushi restaurant in Los Angeles with only the two of them and a single employee/chef. Strange times, but the Great Pause turned out to be a great time to slow down and meet someone special. And so the adventure began…
Claudie was finishing residency at UCLA, working long hours in the emergency room during uncertain times. She was just about to put dating on hold until she graduated and moved to a new city, when her prince charming appeared seemingly out of nowhere.
James had just left NYC for the West Coast where opportunities existed for his company, and unknowingly, also for his personal life.
Since then - the world has opened back up - and it’s been a beautiful adventure navigating a new normal together.
In just two years, they’ve had California sunset beach picnics, road trips to Big Sur, surf trips to Costa Rica, relived their youth at Coachella, been on ski trips in the Alps, Vail, and Whister, they've meditated for 5 days in up-state, whisked around the big apple, ate their way through Oaxaca, been fishing in Canada, art-shopping in Mexico City, scootered through Paris, and boated their way through the South of France. WHAT A RIDE.
Shortly after meeting, James became a cat dad to Dash and Jasper. Claudie then followed him to Austin, TEXAS, where they’ve created a home and adopted their newest family member, Kaya.
They are looking forward to celebrating their love and life together with their favorite people in May 2023.
