My sister is one of the lucky ones who met her husband young and has been happily married for almost 10 years. As a result she has enjoyed endless entertainment with my online dating fiascos over the years. She has been Chris's biggest supporter ever since my text recap of our first date (see 'Our Story' section - Love at First Swipe). Despite being the younger sister, she's grounded me over the years and been unwavering in her belief that sooner or later, I'd find the right guy. She's set an example for the type of love I wanted and I'm so excited to have her be my Maid of Honor. She also puts me to shame in the kitchen... but that's a story for another day.
Kelsey and I have been friends since the awkward middle school years - more than half our lives. Fondly referred to as our sweet friend, she has a heart of gold and has been there for me through so many life experiences - college, roommates, trips and best of all, endless girls nights. She is getting married to her other half in March of 2022 and it has been a (stressful) blessing to share this experience with her.
Olivia and I met at college (Go Terps!) and have been glued together since that first Irish Car Bomb shot that she forced down my throat. She and her husband, Dan, will welcome their first child in July of this year, so she will be an Virtual Bridesmaid from sunny Florida. Her loyalty, strength and wisdom have been invaluable to me during our 15 years of friendship, and she was the first friend I wanted to meet Chris when I knew he was the one. She and Dan will be greatly missed during our special day but I cannot wait to meet their little man and spoil him shamelessly.
There's no one I'd rather enjoy a wine night with on the couch (except for you, Chris) than this girl. She and I have spent years living our best life as single gals, painting towns red all the way from Fort Worth to Iceland. She's also been my unwilling date to LOTS of country concerts - a job she was happy to relinquish to Chris. Kati is the most giving human I know and has such a gentle and kind heart, I feel lucky she'll be standing by my side in Alaska.
Krunal, aka KP, is a great friend and mentor. I can always count on his insightfulness on various topics, widely ranging from work to a good wine recommendation. KP and I have been playing more golf lately (he has yet to beat me), and look forward to our conversations had during the round. Sapna and KP are amongst our favorite travel friends as they like a good vacation as much as we do. I'm grateful for his friendship and am looking forward to seeing his much talked about dance moves at the wedding!
Little miss London is Tedi's oldest niece and is SO excited to be one of the flower girls at the wedding. She has already started practicing for the big day, so she will be ready to impress come September. She has very strong opinions about her ceremony dress (she wants yellow but unfortunately that won't be happening) and we have every confidence she'll be the best helper to her little sister when they walk down the aisle. And if not, hey at least she's cute!
Posie June may be too young to understand exactly what the flower girl job entails, but one thing is for sure, she is always ready and willing to follow her big sister's lead. Her smile is infectious and she's just coming into her own mischevious phase, so we fully expect her to supply the comic relief at the wedding.
A favorite family story of ours is Thanksgiving of 2020, which was the first time Chris met that side of the family. Posie is usually shy around people (especially men) she doesn't know but she went straight to Chris and was so content being held by him, much to the shock and jealousy of our family. Looks like she knew just like Tedi did that he'd be sticking around for the long haul.
Ryan's positive outlook on life and his desire to make people laugh are two of my favorite things about him. Our friendship really blossomed during COVID and I've been lucky enough to get to know his amazing family as well during our adventures together. Last fall, we celebrated his 30th birthday in Puerta Vallarta and so when I think of margaritas, I subconsciously think of Ryan. It doesn't hurt that we've also had our fair share of margaritas in Austin as well. Looking forward to seeing his dance and karaoke moves on display in Alaska - no pressure Ryan! :)
