Bryce and Aimee first became friends in the Spring of 2016. Aimee was working at Iron Horse Brewery - The Pub in downtown Ellensburg, while attending Central Washington University. Bryce worked in Bellevue at the time, but always came into town to visit friends. The Iron Horse Brewery Men's Softball Team, which Bryce was on, would always congregate at The Pub before and after games. As friendships developed throughout the group, the Ellensburg crew would often gather at friends houses or have a night on the town on their regular loop to the Tav, the Tier, the Shoe, and maybe even 301! After a year of being friends in a group, Bryce and Aimee both had interest in getting to know each other more on a personal level. The turning moment was Aimee's graduation night (June 2017) where Bryce was introduced to Aimee's family.
Shortly after Aimee graduated from CWU, Bryce invited Aimee out for their first date on July 1st, 2017. It was a gorgeous summer night out boating on Lake Sammamish, thanks to some very generous friends. Bryce was living at the lake house and that was already a bonus in Aimee's eyes. We grabbed some food and drinks and just cruised around while listening to music. Now, here's the turning point. The evening went from a dream to suddenly being stranded in the middle of the lake after the sun went down. Being the hero that Bryce is, he jumped right in and pull the boat to shore - or actually a rotten old dock in which an elderly man greeted us by screaming "GET OFF!" We explained the situation and he ever so kindly offered to tow us home. It's a memory that could have gone horribly wrong, but we can now reminisce and laugh at the first date we had.
August 8th, 2021. It was a summer Sunday afternoon. We were tossing around ideas of what to do and we agreed on heading to Rimrock Lake to do some paddle boarding. When we were living in Issaquah on the lake house, we would often go paddle boarding, so we were happy to find a place to keep it going! After about a 45 minute drive, we parked and Aimee reluctantly unpacked because it was really windy and a bit chilly. Once we got to the water, we realized it was quiet, private cove protected from the wind. We loaded up and had a drink while we paddled around. Bryce decided on a whim that he was going to go cliff jumping (which now looking back was RISKY because he had set the ring down on the rocks to do so). After Bryce made the jump and calmed some of the nerves and adrenaline, Aimee decided to snap a picture. Bryce was behind her and she shouted to smile - then realized he was not smiling... he was actually doing something weird with his arm. So, Aimee tried again with some further instructions, "put you arms down and smile this time!" She looked at the picture and saw he was doing something weird again with his arm! She zoomed into the and finally noticed the ring in the picture before turning around to realize what happened. I think we both were happy we were wearing sunglasses, because the tears started flowing. Now it was just trying to stay balanced while coming together and getting the ring safely secured. We got to land, celebrated, cheers, and reveled in the moment by taking lots, and lots of pictures.
Y'all have been hearing it from us for a while now... but, we finally made it happen. After almost a year of house hunting and putting offers on houses, we closed on October 27th, 2021! We're moving the weekend of Thanksgiving to our new home in Three Forks, Montana! Three Forks is about a half hour West of Bozeman, MT. We're sad to be moving further away from our friends and family, but we are so excited to start new and get out of Washington! After we get settled, we look forward to hosting our friends and family - so don't hesitate to plan a trip and come see us!
Our new address is:
