Travel and Stay in Orvieto
Orvieto is 60 miles north of Rome. It depends on the rest of your travel plans, but I usually recommend public transportation within Italy, as the trains are quite easy and quick between big cities. Most car rentals only offer manual cars for a reasonable price, as automatic cars are much more expensive. I’m assuming most people will be coming from Rome, but there are lots of other options from around the country, let me know if you would like help with research :) I love travel planning and have lots of experience as well!
Roma Termini train station has regular trains every day going to the small town of Orvieto. I would recommend staying in the town of Orvieto on the night of the 20th, since we’ll have the Rehearsal dinner that night and it’s only a mile from the wedding venue. Bruno and I will be arriving to Orvieto on Friday June 19th and staying on the outskirts of the town in an AirBnB.
I’d also recommend Airbnb for your stays, as I believe they’ll be the cheapest and nicest option, especially if you’re with a group. Feel free to reach out to myself or Bruno if you’d like to travel or stay in Airbnb’s with others, since this would help make things cheaper!
We will all have included accommodation on the night of the wedding June 21st, with check in at 2pm. I’m going to see about organizing group transportation to the venue, although its very close at a 30 minute walk. We need to check out 11am on the 22nd after an included buffet breakfast.
