We met in 2015, at mutual friend's wedding where Ashlyn caught the bouquet and Nathan caught the garter! We began dating and traveled back and forth between KC and NYC for over 2 years until Ashlyn was able to relocate to KC in 2018.
Nathan loves the Chiefs while Ashlyn is a die-hard Broncos fan. This has been a fun and competitive rivalry we both have enjoyed over the years. Ashlyn's best friend, Ari, came to KC and all of Nathan's closest friends and family came out to the Broncos and Chiefs game at Arrowhead Stadium on October 28, 2018. Nathan completely surprised Ashlyn as he got down on one knee and proposed to her. Ashlyn said "Yes" to her forever valentine and Nathan took several bows to the surrounding cheering tailgaters.
We closed on the house and Ashlyn was set to move from Connecticut to KC on May 10, 2018. Ashlyn's mom flew out to CT to help pack, but to her surprise, Ashlyn had not even started to pack up the apartment and she had to work the next 4 days. Her mom literally saved the voyage because she packed up and labeled everything! Nathan flew out and we were set to head out the next morning. We woke up to rainy cold weather and the surprise that the U-Haul had been dropped off 40 mins away from Stamford and we had to go to the new site to pick it up. After several hours of loading the truck with the help of a few friends, we went to the initial U-Haul pickup location to get the trailer for Ashlyn's car. After hooking the trailer up, we found the lights didn't work and had to wait 2 hours for a service truck. Once the lights were fixed, we struggled to load the car ourselves, finally figured it out, and hit the road! 22-straight hours, 7 monster energy drinks, 3 Britney Spears CDs, and a lot of Valentine Beef Sticks later, we finally made it to our new home!
