On September 15th the universe allowed two beautiful souls to collide. Anthony and Jose were both recently out of long term relationships not really looking for anything serious as Jose was about to move to Detroit, MI to embark on a new journey and Anthony, just really looking to find himself and enjoy life. The two met on a dating app (bumble to be exact) and the two began to chat. After about a week of talking hours through the night and FaceTime calls that they never wanted to end the two knew it was time to meet in person. Neither schedule worked for them to actually meet in person. Until one night, Jose told Anthony there was something he wanted to tell him but didn’t want to freak him out as he knew they hadn’t met in person. Jose said the “L” word….He told Anthony he felt he was falling in love with him. Anthony responded with “I think I’m falling in love with you too.”
The two knew that they even more now needed to meet in person to make sure the feeling would be the same if they saw each other face to face. Jose on a work trip in Indiana and Anthony was headed to Ohio which was about 4 hours away from Jose would be. Jose suggested if it would be okay for him to drive the four hours to finally meet in person and a little hesitant Anthony agreed to it. Jose was 3 hours into the drive when he got a text from Anthony saying “maybe we should wait to meet” Jose instantly told him it was too late that he was only an hour away.
The two met and instantly the connection was there. They both stayed up all night talking, laughing and excited they finally were able to be in the same place together. The two begin sharing their life together, Anthony moved with Jose to Michigan where they lived during the pandemic. The two spent almost everyday together after Anthony was furloughed from working as a Flight Attendant with American Airlines and Jose taking a leave from working with Spirit Airlines. The two experienced a pandemic that brought them so much closer together and they knew that together they could face anything.
In 2020, Anthony and Jose faced a major move as Jose got into pilot school where the two would have to move to Orlando, FL. Jose competed his flight training with Anthony there to support him every step of the way. In August of 2022 Jose finished flight training and was a certified flight instructor and ready for his first big job. He applied for a position in Texas and was offered the position. He had two weeks to relocate to Texas from Florida to begin his new position.
In 2023, Anthony and Jose were getting ready to go on cruise where several members of Anthony’s family would be going as well. Jose found this would be the perfect opportunity to “pop the question.” He got Anthony’s family in on his plans. They got the cruise director involved and all of Anthony’s family members were there sitting in the front row when the cruise director asked Jose and Anthony to come to the stage. Jose got down on one knee and ask Anthony to spend the rest of his life with him. Anthony immediately responded “are you serious” not expecting Jose to do anything like this in front of a crowd. If you know Jose he doesn’t like to be the center of attention and there they were front and center. It was the best day of Anthony’s life, because he knew that day going forward he would get to for sure spend the rest of his life with Jose.
