Getting In
Our venue requires that all guests in attendance have a green pass (or equivalent in the US). This should be a digital or paper certificate showing that the holder has been vaccinated in compliance with Italian Ministry of Health Guidelines or tested negative for COVID-19 viral test 1 day prior. Updated official COVID requirements can be found on the Italian Ministry of Health website. Please review this information carefully before traveling!
If you will be leaving right after the wedding and want to test locally, you can find below the details of the local pharmacy in Torgiano:
Farmacia Ricci
Via Subasio, 4, 06089 Torgiano PG
https://www.farmaciaricci.com/test-covid/
(Suggest booking in advance just to be sure they have the time and day that work best for you – as this is the only pharmacy in Torgiano)
Outside Torgiano:
Farmacia Perelli - in Deruta
Via Dell'Arte 14/16 Deruta (PG)
Farmacia Menconi
Piazza Karl Marx, Marsciano, PG
http://www.farmaciamenconi.it/test-rapidi-cov-2-in-farmacia/
Separately, you may find it more convenient to bring an at-home COVID test with you from the US. We recommend the test offered by eMed because it emails you a PDF lab report that can be presented on your phone.
We also recommend that you bring a KN95 Mask: From May 1 until June 15, 2022, the use of more protective FFP2/ KN95 masks is mandatory to participate in all indoor athletic and cultural and recreational events, and on all transportation.
The nearest major airports to the venue are Rome (Fiumicino (FCO) & Ciampino (CIA)) and Florence (FLR). If flying within Europe, there is a small airport in Perugia (PEG) close to the venue. Other major cities such as Milan (MXP or LIN), Venice (VCE), or Bologna (BLQ) may offer good cost effective options as well with easy access to Perugia (the closest major city to the venue). Transport between cities is fairly simple with the Italian train system (we recommend using Trenitalia or Italo if opting for train transportation- Pro tip: the high speed trains, aka freccia, can take you across the country in record times).
Getting to the Venue
There are a few different options to get to the venue/ hotel from the airport in which you arrive, depending on your schedule and travel arrangements.
Car
We highly recommend this option. Renting a car from the airport and driving to the hotel/ venue is the simplest way to get there. Rates may be increased if you are dropping off the vehicle at a different location than pick up.
Pro-Tip: Be sure to check the transmission on the vehicle if you prefer automatic vehicles. Manual is standard in Italy. Also, if driving into major towns and cities, check the parking and driving regulations. Some cities contain emissions free zones where vehicles are not permitted and you can be ticketed.
Train
If you prefer using public transit, we recommend taking the train from the city you land in to Perugia. Once in Perugia, we recommend arranging for a taxi to take you to the hotel/ venue, or you can try rent a car from Perugia to get there (there may be limited availability of vehicles since this is a smaller service area).
