The Beginning

We couldn't tell you the first time we met, but we love our story nonetheless. The two of us grew up going to the same church in the Chicago suburbs. We quickly became good friends from high school on, hanging out in the same friend group (plenty of embarrassing pictures to prove it). There was a chemistry between us that everyone seemed to notice but us. Maybe there were some high school crushes along the way (depending on who you ask).

Going the Distance

After almost 10 years of friendship, our relationship took a turn when we found ourselves chatting on the phone for hours on end despite living in opposite sides of the world (Dubai & Chicago). Daniel finally realized the time was right to take Angela on a date when she stopped in Chicago for a brief two weeks before heading off to grad school in Bologna, Italy. While the timing wasn't the best, we continued to develop our relationship, still chatting for hours on end, and jet setting to see each other when we had the chance.

Washington DC

Angela moved to Washington DC for her second year of grad school and Daniel made the move there from Chicago. There was no turning back after that. We spent almost two years in DC together, building up our careers while taking advantage of all things coastal together: lots of seafood, outdoor activities, weekend getaways, and good weather.

The Proposal

After 10 years of friendship, 5 years of dating, 3 cities, 2 moves, 1 pandemic, and countless adventures together, Daniel popped the question. Just after starting grad school in New Haven, CT, he surprised Angela by bringing her to the coast in front of a lighthouse at sunset where he had everything set up. This was a special symbol for our relationship since we've been trusting each other enough to follow one another along on our different journeys.

Here We Are

We are so excited to bring our journey full circle and celebrate with our family and friends where it all virtually took off, in Italy! We can't wait to share this big adventure with you all.
