Our first picture together, 2013

Glen & I had many mutual friends, but it was not until a cold night in January 2013 that our story started. I was back at Salve for basketball winter break, and the rest of campus and Newport was completely quiet. I had just turned 21 and two of my closest girlfriends (who are now sister-in laws and bridesmaids of mine!) wanted to bring me to the infamous O'Brien's pub on a Saturday night. Glen always came back to Newport early to work and happened to also be at OB's this same night.

Commencement Ball, 2014

At OB's, he found me in the crowd (I mean dance floor) and looked at me with the biggest smile.  He asked me right away what I was doing back in town, since school hadn't started back up yet. We had a great conversation and later in the night he asked if he could have my number. Funny thing is, back in September he had asked me for my number when he and some of his rugby friends came by my house on Goodwin Street. I remember telling my friends, "that blonde boy is cute, I hope he texts me". He never did text me and was embarrassed when he tried to play it "cool" on that night in January when my number was already in his phone. That night when OB's was closing, he asked to walk me home. If you know Newport, OB's and Goodwin Street are a few hundred feet away. I laughed anyways and told him "YES". Ever since that night, Glen and I have been making memories and enjoying every minute of life together.

Proposal, 12.15.18

Each year the weekend before Christmas, we visit Newport to celebrate the holidays. This had become a tradition of ours that started back in 2014 since we never spent the holidays together. Fast forward to December 15, 2018, we had scheduled our annual Newport Christmas trip. Little did I know, that he had planned the most special trip to Newport of them all. He secretly invited both of our families down, and had them all waiting inside of Ochre Court. Decorated for Christmas, Glen and I stopped to visit the christmas tree inside of Ochre. Walking up the tree lined drive, huddled under an umbrella, he got down on one knee and proposed. I was shocked as our families came running out to celebrate with us. This will forever be one of the most memorable days and moments of our lives!
