Flights
The closest airport to the resort is just outside Hyderabad - Rajiv Gandhi International Airport
Direct flights from the UK are run by British Airways, with a range of airlines offering services with one stop.
Visa
If you have a UK/Irish passport, you'll need to get a visa before travelling to India, e-visa is probably your best option. There are a lot of fake websites offering this service so please use the link below: https://indianvisaonline.gov.in/evisa/tvoa.html
Just a warning, the website is a bit rubbish, so leave plenty of time to do it. Some tips from my experience if having problems: use a different browser if current not working (Firefox or Google), clear your browser cache & cookies, give a very short file name to your photo upload (pdf format).
From Hyderabad Airport
Aalankrita resort is ~1hr away from the airport by road.
The easiest method is to take an Uber (or Ola - the local alternative).
The airport offers 2hrs free wifi, there are also attendants at the designated Uber / Ola stands that can help order a cab.
Carbon Offsetting
We are conscious that the choice to have a wedding where many guests will be flying long distances is not eco-friendly. We will therefore be carbon offsetting our flights. If you would like to do the same, many providers are available - one option is MyClimate
There is no need for guests to book / pay for accommodation, we have booked out rooms at the resort for all.
Following the RSVP date, we will get in touch to arrange room logistics.
Accommodation will be provided for the nights of Feb 7th, 8th and 9th
Vegetarian food (Indian cuisine) will be provided at the resort for the duration of your stay.
There will be a mixture of buffet food, a la carte and food stalls based on the event.
This includes:
Friday 7th - Lunch and Dinner
Saturday 8th - Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner
Sunday 9th - Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner
Monday 10th - Breakfast
You are welcome to wear traditional Indian attire or Western wear to any event. Please also see dress code for each event. Please get in touch to ask any questions if you're unsure!
Women
If going for western wear: maxi dresses, midi skirts are good for the hot weather and for more casual events- top and trousers are fine. If going for traditional Indian attire, there are many styles to choose: Saree, Salwar Kameez, Anarkali, Lenghas (see link).
TIP: best to avoid sarees for events where there is dancing! If you are anything like me, they will just fall off.
Men
If going for western wear, collared shirts and trousers and for more formal events, you can add a blazer.
If going for traditional Indian attire, you can choose from Kurta or Sherwani (see link)! For shoes: Indian juttis, Toms, sandals!
The biggest gift to us is to have you share our special day, but should you wish to contribute some other way, then your contribution to our honeymoon would really make our day.
For those who want to grab wedding outfits in Hyderabad, you can find all you need in GVK One Mall (Road No.1, Banjara Hills, Opposite Hyatt Place, Hyderabad). Some key shops: Neerus, fabindia (womenswear) and Mebaz, Manyavar (menswear).
Distance to mall from resort: 27km
Distance to mall from airport: 30km

If you are looking for more of a market feel, take a trip to the old city and head to Charminar Bazaar where there are many stalls!
Distance to Charminar from resort: 32km
Distance to Charminar from airport: 23km
Hyderabad
Hyderabad is not often on the tourist map but has a lot to offer from amazing palaces, markets and its world famous biriyani!
Some of our favourite sites: Charminar, Golconda Fort and Birla Mandir.
Outside of Hyderabad
There are regular domestic flights to Goa and Kerala (all under 2 hours from Hyderabad).
Hampi is a beautiful ancient village, a UNESCO World Heritage Site which can be reached by train or bus from Hyderabad (Distance: 380km).
For those who want to explore the North India, we would recommend the Golden Triangle (Delhi, Agra, Jaipur). There are regular flights to Delhi from Hyderabad (approx just over 2 hours).
