A celebration where mehndi (henna) is put on the hands and feet of the bride and other women present. Indian wedding tradition calls for a Mehndi ceremony to be held the night before the wedding as a way of wishing the bride good health and prosperity as she makes her journey on to marriage.

Ladies can also have henna done at this event.

Dress code

Colourful traditional Indian/Western wear

No white clothing for ladies as henna may stain

Sangeet is an evening of music and dance celebrating the union of two families. The Sangeet will include a Garba, a traditional Gujarati dance – an opportunity for all guests to get involved (think of an Indian version of a ceilidh!)

Dress code

Colourful traditional Indian/Western wear (same as Mehndi)

The groom with his family and friends arrive with music in a joyous procession and are welcomed by the bride's family and friends.

The grooms side will join him in an energetic celebration with drums, music and dancing, and will meet the bride's side to officially start the wedding ceremony.
