It is my recommendation, if the prices make it possible, to fly into Liberia (LIR). The drive is very pretty and it is much shorter than trying to travel from SJO. For those that do still fly into SJO and need some rest before making the drive to the hotel, there are numerous good hotels right across the street from the hotel. There is a Marriot, Hampton, and Holiday Inn all within about 5 miles of the airport and a Denny’s co-located with the Hampton and the Holiday Inn. Near the Denny’s is where all the car rentals are located as well.

Hello everyone!! When looking at flights there are two airport options. Both airports are accustomed to tourists and easy to navigate through as everyone speaks English and has easily accessible rental car options.

SJO - Juan Santamaría International
• This airport is typically the cheaper option but is approximately a 4.5 hour drive from the hotel. There are rental car options for extremely cheap if you would like to make the drive yourself.
• if you DON’T want to drive, Alan and I are trying to coordinate transportation from the airport to the hotel. If you would like a ride, we will need your itinerary sent to the wedding email (listed below) so we can plan for how many vehicles we will need and at what times. We will be basing our plans of the itineraries received so please make sure you send it so there are no issues upon arrival.

LIR - Guanacaste Liberia Airport
• this airport is smaller so sometimes it can be a little extra to fly into but it is approximately 1.5 hours from the hotel. It is also a gorgeous drive since the ocean will be right next to you and then you’ll be driving through the rainforest. There are also rental car options for extremely cheap if you would like to drive.
• We believe there will be transfers available through the hotel but if not we can go through outside vendors for transportation. If interested please send your itinerary to the wedding email so we can plan accordingly.
