Getting to New Plymouth
New Plymouth is a 4 - 4.5 hour drive from both Auckland and Wellington.
It also has a fabulous* airport with numerous daily flights direct from Auckland, Wellington and Christchurch. Unfortunately, Jetstar no longer flies to New Plymouth so Air New Zealand is your only option in relation to flights.
The airport is a 15 minute drive from central New Plymouth and a 30 minute drive from Oakura. Shuttles, taxis and rental cars are all available from the airport. Please refer to the link below for more information about transport to and from the airport.
