The Beginning

Her Story:

So yea -- Charles and I met in Women's Studies class in 2013. Charles was the only guy in class and I didn't pay him much attention at all. It wasn't until my soon to be line sister who was also his co-worker at the time mentioned him to me that I started to notice him. From that point forward I started to scope him out and he was kinda cute. Very quiet, but cute. After that, someone talked to someone and numbers were exchanged. I honestly don't remember. We texted for a while and eventually went on our first date to Mount Trashmore on July 4, 2013, and I knew then that Charles was the love of my life. He was so sweet, gentle, and a lot of fun! On our very first date, he took such good care of me. I was so amazed! I talked about it to my friends for a while because I was truly captivated by him. During the rest of my college years, we kept in contact but ended up going our separate ways.

Fast forward through many check-ins and a series of life events, in 2015 I moved to Austin, Texas to pursue my master's degree and here he comes in my DMs (on Facebook like only Charles would do) getting cute with me.

At the end of 2016, he contacted me to let me know he was going to be in town  April 2017 for a work conference and said that he wanted to see me. When the conference came around I was going to flake because I had some school-related obligations, but once I learned my line sister would be in San Antonio that same weekend I decided to go. That weekend was a trip. Charles thought he had this in the bag so I had to play hard to get, but by the end of the weekend, I was love-struck just like 2013. After that, he and I continued to talk and he offered to come out to Austin another time just to see me and I accepted.

The weekend of June 9, 2017 - really set the tone. We spent the entire weekend enjoying each other. I got a chance to show him the ropes of the good ol AT of X. We ran on Lady Bird Lake, I introduced him to the infamous 'Ace of Spades' at Torchy's Tacos and showed him around 6th Street. This was the beginning of a new, unique and passionate love that only Charles and Courtney could have.

His Story:

It was my last semester in college and I wanted to take some easy classes so I enrolled in Women's Studies. The first day of class this girl with a bookbag high on her back, blonde hair walks in LATE with this beautiful smile. She immediately catches my attention. I spent the first couple of weeks understanding her demeanor and checking out her style and then eventually I started to ask people around campus if they knew her. I knew a guy who knew a girl that she was cool with and they set it up (yall know who yall are). I spent a couple of weeks texting her then proposed a date to Mount Trashmore, one of my favorite childhood hangouts. The date was a success and I knew I had in the bag...but I couldn't commit to anything long term because I had some business to take care of first (e.g. Grad school, jobs, etc.)

After graduating grad school being settled in D.C. I reached back out to Courtney to see if she was single - and she was...in Austin, Texas living her best life. I spent the next several months flirting, texting, and trying to get back into her good graces - and it worked.

Then we connected in April 2017 when I had a work conference in San Antonio. There I knew a relationship had potential I went back to Austin a few times to seal the deal and the rest was history man - let's keep it simple.
