How to get there and what to do..
By Air
There is an international airport on Santorini offering direct flights from London and other main hubs. These flights are less frequent than flights to Athens which is the capital and main transport hub in Greece. There are regular and inexpensive flights from Athens to Santorini.
Ferry Services
There are also regular ferry services from Athens and the neighbouring islands (the Cyclades). If you were planning on making more of a holiday out of our wedding, then you might want to consider combining Santorini with another Greek Island. Of this group of islands, the only international airports are on Mykonos, Crete and Santorini.
Ubers and taxis are available on the island (taxis can be organised by hotels/restaurants). Depending where you are staying (and what plans you have) we would recommend renting a car. This can often be organised through your accommodation (we usually pay EUR40-60 a day). Some links below that may be helpful (we have used Vazeos, who meet us at Arrivals).

There is a plethora of accommodation options in Santorini. You will be spoilt for choice, as you will see from platforms like booking.com, Airbnb etc.
We recommend staying in the northern part of the island. Of the three main villages, Oia, Fira and Imerovigli, we would prefer to stay in Imerovigli. Oia is beautiful and worth a visit but very busy, and extremely hard to get in and out of! We generally avoid Fira (or "Thira", the capital) if we can help it.
Our venue is located halfway between Imerovigli and Oia in a rural setting. There is a lovely hotel called San Antonio right next door, and another called CSky on the other side. Imeroviogli village is only 5-minute drive away, where there are restaurants, amenities and far more accommodation options to suit all budgets.
If you are specifically looking for child friendly options, we have been recommended Athiri Santorini Family Friendly Hotel and Aghios Artemios Traditional Houses.
Note that there is an enormous price difference between properties with a "Caldera view" and "Aegean view" although there are sea views everywhere.
1. Visit Oia village and:
• Walk the pathway with the old “Captain houses”
• Walk or ride a donkey down to the small port “Ammoudi” with its fish taverns just next to the water
• Visit the small traditional village “Finikia”
2. Visit the only pre-historic village worldwide at Akrotiri:

3. Walk the way up the Pyrgos traditional village and have an overall view of the island
4. Walk the pathway from Imerovigli village to the main town Fira or to Oia village, overlooking the sea (it goes straight past the venue!)
5. Enjoy a wine-tasting at one of Santorini’s local wineries
