Our first picture together 2007

It all began in our home town Gabrovo, Bulgaria in 2007 when we were both in high school.

While organising a school event as part of the student council, Georgi felt it was more important to try to impress Vesi with his guitar skills than to really help in the organisation.

Vesi, on the other hand, really wanted to get his skype (back in 2007 everyone was chatting 24/7 on skype). The only way to "subtly" do it was to ask every single student in the council for their skypes... of corse only for "organisation purposes" and only to get HIS. :)

Eventually it worked... we both didn't think our relationship will last more than a couple of months (as were all high school ones).

It turned out otherwise...

High School Years

Our high school years were very turbulent. Anyone who knows us from those times would confirm that we had a lot of scandals, drama and "almost break-ups". We also had a lot of fun with many parties and get-togethers.

Most of all, we had this pure and unconditional love for each other. Still, a high school love, but in a way more mature than us.

Eventually we became some kind of legends in our school as the longest lasting couple ever.

We really think, that after 15 years we still hold that record...

Georgi's Prom 2010

Georgi's prom in 2010.

Vesi with some questionable fashion choices :D

At that time we both thought that our relationship was doomed... with a very clear expiration date- 03.10.2010- the day that Georgi went to Munich and started medical school.

Vesi, on the other hand, was in the English class of their language high school. Her whole preparation was focused on English universities.

Her plan was to study law in London.

1153 km away from Munich...

So, on the 03.10.2010 Georgi went to Munich with only two suitcases and a lot of hopes and dreams.

Still, we could not bring ourselves to break our relationship up. It was a very difficult time for both of us (given that Georgi was practically homeless in the beginning of his studies and had to constantly change dormitories, hostels etc.). Add to that our teenage hormones... and you get a LOT OF DRAMA!

As Vesi's mother used to say: "At that time Georgi was practically living in our computer screen”, as we were constantly on skype together.

Long distance was no fun.... long distance with expiration date was even worse!

Vesi's Prom 2011

Vesi's Prom in 2011, and an uncalled for "pre-wedding" or „wedding rehearsal" photoshoot.

Eventually, there was a big surprise in Vesi's plans. Though she was already accepted in law school in London and could practically chill through her last high school semester, there was a 180°-change of plans. In the middle of her last year, she decided to follow her father's advice and study medicine in stead of law.

Medical school in England was not an option.

And here came Georgi on a white horse as her saviour. During her first visit in Munich (when they were supposed to break up), he took Vesi to his anatomy class. And there in the anatomy hall he said "See, it is all in Latin, you know English, so you will understand everything! Come and study medicine in Munich!".

Perfect plan, with the small exception that Vesi didn't know German and medical school in Germany is in German, not in English!

No problem... intensive private lessons for 6 months during her final year at high school brought success!

Vesi got a place on a German course in Munich in October 2011...

As of her prom in 2011, Georgi had to go to anatomy and biochemistry lectures and wasn't able to escort her. They made a prom photoshoot with her white prom dress in the summer.

Together again in Munich

... so the fall of 2011 Georgi and Vesi finally got back together in Munich!

Vesi managed to get her German language certificate and after another 6-months of long distance relationship, Vesi finally started medical school in Munich.

Medical School

The fact that we both studied medicine brought us even more together. Initially we lived in separate dormitories, eventually we moved to the same one.
And that was the point where we started growing up as a couple. Where we shared a lot of good and many, many hard moments. Moments of desperation, exhaustion and constant struggle. But the fact that we were both sharing the same fate actually helped us go through medical school. Georgi was literally "paving the way" for Vesi and helping her with "insider information", while Vesi was, on her part, enormous moral and social support for him.

During those years we changed a lot, we moulded our characters in accordance with the other. We matured together and grew as a strong inseparable entity. Our love grew stronger and thrived with us. We truly found out that we are meant to be together!

We also found a lot of amazing friends in Munich, most of whom will be there to celebrate our big day with us!

Georgi's Graduation 2018

And there came the happy day of Georgi's Graduation.

He started his training as an orthopaedic and trauma surgeon, while Vesi finished her studies.

Vesi's Graduation 2019

One year later, it was Vesi's turn to become a doctor.

She started training as a gynaecologist.

They moved in together in an apartment with a very long story and adventures of its own.

Engagement with a broken arm

The story of our engagement is a funny one...

Georgi was put under a lot of pressure to propose for a very long time. It even came down to that- his mother told him "you either ask this girl to marry you, or I will disown you!".

But what does he do when put under pressure... he does exactly the opposite. So during more than a year everyone was hoping and asking after every special occasion, every vacation... nothing happened.

Vesi really gave up hoping and stopped thinking about getting engaged at all. Georgi just kept saying that "we didn't know each other well enough and that we needed time to get to know each other"... after 13 years together!

In the beginning of January 2021 Vesi fell and broke her shoulder...

Couple of weeks later, on her 28th Birthday on 30.01.2021 Georgi finally decided to propose.

Vesi broke (of course) in tears and Georgi asked on which hand to put the ring on... and Vesi just managed to hiccup "on the broken one".

And so it took a broken arm for Georgi to finally decide to propose to Vesi!

Greece, our first love

When we are not working, we try to travel as much as we can!

Greece and its islands has a very special place in our hearts as it became a tradition for us to go there every summer and explore this beautiful country!

Italy, our second love

In 2022 we cheated on Greece...with Italy. It was a crazy year in which we were in different parts of Italy 5 separate times. We even made a three-week dream road trip visiting most of Italy's most popular destinations.

Our big Italy trip was indeed bitter sweet, because initially it was planned to be our USA-trip to attend Vesi's sister's wedding. Unfortunately, Vesi couldn't travel, so we had to make a last minute change of plans.

So, we decided to do the trip that we have always dreamed of, but never had had and probably never will have time for... a road trip of Italy.

We travelled more than 3000 km in total, ate our weight in pasta, lived the dolce vita and fell in love again with a country... with heaven actually.

Attended a lot of weddings

In the last couple of years we attended a LOT of weddings. As Georgi would say "we are gathering intel on how it's done". Still it took us almost two years (because what in our relationship has ever happened quickly) to finally decide to get married!

... and now it's our turn

We have so many friends who have been with us for so long. Old friends who remember our high school drama, university friends who struggled with us on the medical battlefield. New friends and colleagues who know a different side of us.
Though we considered just signing the papers in a small circle, we just couldn't do it!
We wanted to celebrate our love and commitment to each other with all of you!

So thank you all for being part of our lives! For the many great and unforgettable moments!

We hope that you all make it to our wedding in Bulgaria and have an amazing time in our home country!

We really wanted to show you the best of Bulgaria while combining it with Georgi's love for the sea and dream to get married there!

Enjoy! See you on 24.06.2023!

The best is yet to come!

"Love is not just looking at each other, it's looking in the same direction.”
Antoine de Saint-Exupéry

We have written this quote on the wedding card of every single friend of ours!

We truly believe in this notion and hope to continue looking in the same direction all through our lives!
