ABOUT

Catholic weddings are full of time-honored traditions, but they're more than just a few Bible verses and a priest officiating. A rite of Marriage ceremony, commonly known as nuptials, happens inside a Church and traditionally lasts between 30 to 45 mins. This ceremony is considered the official wedding for Catholics where the Bride and Groom say their " I Do's" to each other!

About

Mehndi, otherwise known as henna, is a paste associated with positive spirits and good luck. Indian Wedding tradition calls for a Mehndi ceremony to be held a day or two before the wedding as a way of wishing the bride good health and prosperity as she makes her journey on to marriage. The darkness of the Mehndi colour on the bride’s hand represents the deep love between the couple.

About

The word “Sangeet “ means music, but when it is used as a term to describe a celebratory event during an Indian wedding it translates to Music Night or Musical party. This musical night is a celebration of the union of not only the couple but the bonding of both families. It is here that both sides bring down their barriers and mingle in a fun environment. It’s usually held a day before the wedding.

About

A traditional South Indian Telugu wedding has a series of events starting from Gowri Puja to Appaginthalu, including some fun games. Each event has its own significance, however, the main event that signifies the union of the bride and the groom is "Jeelakara Bellam", where the bride and groom put a paste of cumin (Jeelakara) and Jaggery (Bellamu) on each other's head. This is done at an auspicious time set by the priest, and ours is at 11:10 AM IST. The details of all the events and their significance can be found under the FAQ section.
