We appreciate you making the trip! Malpensa Airport (MXP) is the largest of the three international airports in Milan. We recommend booking flights to MXP. It offers the most international and direct flights. The airport is about an hour away from Lake Maggiore.
Please note that taxis are very limited in Lake Maggiore and ride sharing apps are not available. We highly recommend renting a car as it is the easiest way to get to and navigate around the Lake. The following link includes a list of car rental companies available at the Malpensa airport.
U.S. citizens may enter Italy for up to 90 days for tourist or business purposes without a visa. Please be sure your U.S. passport is valid for at least 90 days after your intended date of departure from Italy.
Keep in mind that European outlets are different from the U.S and will require an adapter. We recommend a buying a few universal adapters like this one for your trip.
Pay close attention to the voltage of hair tools. Most of Europe is running at 220 volts while in the US we use 110 volts. If you plan to bring any items requiring 110v then you may need a voltage transformer like this.
