Jess and Tyler's love story began when their good friends Randy and Olivia hosted a fire after the Good Friday service at their church. Jess had heard about Tyler and Tyler had heard about Jess but this was the first time they met each other. After starting a bible study with Randy, Olivia, Kiersten and Austin, Jess and Tyler got to know each other really well. They almost hung out with that group of six every weekend. From enjoying walks by the river, ice cream shops and late night fires, Jess' interest for Tyler began to grow and Tyler was wanting to know more and more about this girl.
On June 14th, 2021, Jess sent a birthday message to Tyler hoping he would respond with more than just "Thanks!" Tyler was surprised and excited to receive that birthday message and responded with "Thanks" but also a question about her job. From that point on Jess and Tyler continued to message each other and two days later on June 18th, 2021 Tyler asked Jess out on their first of many fun and adventurous dates. June 20th, 2021 Tyler took Jess to Sheep River Falls where he planned a picnic of all of Jess' favourite snacks and asked her to be his girlfriend. What Tyler didn't know was that Sheep River Falls held such a special place in Jess' heart as that was the last adventure Jess and her family had with her dad, Quinn Davis. After that Tyler and Jess saw each other everyday making such special and meaningful memories together. It was on July 23, 2021, just a month after Tyler and Jess had been dating where Tyler told Jess he loved her. Without hesitation, Jess responded, "I love you too." That moment on Jess and Tyler's love for each other grew stronger and stronger.
On January 15th, 2022 Tyler took Jess to one of her favourite breakfast places, The Chuckwagon Cafe and then for a drive to Sentinel park in Kananaskis area. They were walking along side the river skipping rocks and while Jess was collecting rocks Tyler knelt on one knee asking Jess, "hey what about this rock." Jess turned around to see him on one knee where he proceeded to ask her to marry him. Jess couldn't wait to say yes with a big smile on her face, jumping up and down and tears filling her eyes. They both couldn't wait to get back home to tell their families and they can't wait to spend the rest of their lives together as husband and wife!
When I was a little girl up until I was a young adult I also admired my moms engagement ring. I would always joke and say, “mom when I get married I am going to have your ring.” She would look at me and say, “ nice try Jess but this one’s mine, haha!” Our lives have forever changed with the passing of my dad and when everything happened I asked mom if I could have her engagement ring when that time comes for me. Moms eyes filled with tears and responded, “ I can’t think of anyone better than having one of my daughters wear the ring your dad gave me.” Now the man that I love with my whole heart has given me the ring my dad gave my mom on their engagement and I’ll forever have a piece of my mom and dad with me!
