How we met!

In 2015 he packed up his chest
Loaded his car and drove to the west
His mom was sad to see him miles away
And made him promise he’d return one day

But little did he know he’d meet a friend’s sister
That would turn him into Kellie’s forever Mr.
It was a typical college night for Kell in SLO
When Tim showed up to the party with her bro

It didn’t take long for her to notice his blue eyes
And knew immediately he was her guy
She made her way across the room
To introduce herself to her future groom

They started dating right away
Movies, date nights and of course Chipotle
But soon enough it was time for Tim to go
The Air Force was calling him back to Colorado

1,200 miles apart wasn’t ideal
But they stayed together because their love was real
After years of long distance, they made it through
Now they are ready to say “I do”

The Engagement!

May 31st, 2019

We had scheduled a trip for Kellie to come out to Colorado to celebrate my promotion to Captain. Little did she know, I had been planning our engagement for months and knew I was going to "pop the question" that weekend. After asking Kellie's mom and dad, Helen and Steve, for their blessing, they excitingly said yes and we started plotting a way to surprise Kellie.  Helen and Steve first told Kellie they would be joining her on her trip to Colorado, but last minute told her they couldn't make it. We decided on keeping their visit a secret so we could completely catch Kellie off guard. My mom, Lori, and sister, Gina, had also flown in from Delaware to celebrate the promotion and engagement. On Friday morning, we all got dressed and ready for the promotion ceremony we had planned to attend. Before driving to base, Kellie, my mom, Gina, and myself all went to the main square in Fort Collins where Helen, Steve, and Kellie's brothers, Jeff and Kevin, were patiently waiting for us to arrive. We parked and started walking over to the fountain in the middle of the square where I had planned on asking Kellie to spend the rest of her life with me. After arriving, my mom took a couple pictures of us standing in front of the fountain. Before she put the camera away, I asked for one more picture. Excited and nervous, I got down on one knee and Kellie immediately responded by saying, "Oh my god, are you serious?!" After a short laugh, I told her I wanted to spend the rest of my life with her and asked her if she would marry me. I stood up and gave her a hug and she told me, "Yes!" After she said yes, I pointed in the direction of her family and she was completely surprise to see them. We were both happy to be engaged and have our families there to join in and celebrate such a special milestone in our relationship.
