NECESSITIES TO VISIT VIETNAM

This is a quick list of things you’ll need to enter. For more in depth information, see each relative section below.

1. Passport

2. Visa

please check back as regulations may change. Travel insurance is suggested but not required upon entry.

PASSPORT

Your passport must be valid at least 6 months beyond the date of your departure from Vietnam & have one full available page for your Visa.

VISA

When entering Vietnam, as a US Citizen we are required to apply for a visa. Please do this once your flights are booked. DO NOT WAIT. (this was required pre-pandemic, so it is definitely needed)

Go to this government website to process your visa online. (don't worry it's legit). Follow the tips below and reach out to us if you have more questions. Other sites offer visas but charge you a service fee. This is a government website- straight to the source!

1. Check the box “Confirmation of reading carefully instructions and having completed application” then click continue.

2. Fill out the form with info that matches your passport.

Our tips:

- For Photo - this can be taken with your iphone, stand in front of a white background and try to mimic the proximity of the example photo taken.

- Scan your passport, make sure it's clear and all text is legible.

3. Fill out the personal information - dates are in the format DATE/MONTH/YEAR

- Under “Allowed to entry through checkpoint” make sure you select the correct airport you are arriving.

- “Grant Evisa valid from” will auto populate to 30days.

4. Review information and note down registration code

5. Pay E-Visa registration fee online (I used Visa credit card = $25USD)

6. An email with your registration code and receipt will be sent to you from (no-reply@immigration.gov.vn)

7. Wait ~3 business days to receive E-Visa confirmation. They will notify you that your e-visa has been process

8. Log into the provided link with registration code. PRINT the E-Visa and bring with you to airport

We strongly advise the you print your visa- one copy to have on hand to show the airlines & another in your carry on. They ask for this paperwork upon check-in at the airport, so it can easily get shuffled.

TRAVEL INSURANCE

This is suggested but not required

You can buy your insurance from Luma Health (or any other companies) . It's about $25USD a person. Fill out the form per traveler, then you can pay with a credit card. Your insurance info will be sent to you via email.

AIRLINES (SUGGESTED)

We would suggest our wedding guests leave no later than April 12th or 13th to arrive at our Welcome Night event on April 15th. If you’d like to go earlier in the week (like ourselves) feel free to do so.

TRANSPORTATION

Grab/Local Taxis

It is fairly easy to get a GrabCar (equivalent to Uber) anywhere in Da Nang and Hoi An. This will save you a bit of money compared to a taxi. You just need to get the app ready for your smartphone before your travels.

Alternatively, you can book a taxi for a day by calling the different operators:

1. Mai Linh Taxi (green taxi with Mai Linh Group logo): +84 511 352 5252
2. Vinasun Taxi (white taxi with Vinasun Taxi logo): +84 511 368 6868
3. Tien Sa Taxi (yellow taxi with Taxi Tien Sa logo): +84 511 379 7979

WHAT ABOUT COVID?

Safety of our guests is our number one priority. We are pretty sure that the world will be closer to normal by the time April 2023 comes around, but we will be closely following CDC & WHO guidelines at our wedding and monitoring travel guidelines.

We require all our guests to be vaccinated to attend our events.

WHEN CAN I RSVP?

Please RSVP no later than January 16th 2023.

ARE THERE OTHER WEDDING EVENTS?

Yes! Please refer to the "Events" page. We are confirming exact locations for each event. Please standby as we confirm.

IS THERE A DRESS CODE?

We would love to see our families and friends get dressed up with us! We are requesting a semi-formal dress code for our evening. Wear beige / earth tone colors and please, do not wear white.

CELL SERVICE

Before traveling to Vietnam, make sure your phone is unlocked by your carrier so you can swap out a SIM card (Verizon this is not needed).

Upon arrival at the airport, there are kiosks that sell SIM cards. This is the most convenient way to acquire immediate service.

The airport and Hotel have wifi, however other locations you may visit do not. It's best that one person in your group has service.

MONEY - USD TO VND

Hyatt Regency accepts major credit cards, however local markets and small shops mostly accept cash only. You can exchange money conveniently at the resort or there are plenty of ATMs around.
