Cameron: I met Erin my senior year of high school, February 11, 2011, and of course she wanted to go to prom with your boy. I mean, what can I say? Naw but from our first date to asking her to prom, we became inseparable. Man, listen, I don't know what this girl did to me but it stuck from day ONE!
Erin: I met Cameron my junior year of high school. I was with a friend at his high school for a dance. He barely talked to me, he just smiled and went on. I didn't think two thoughts about him and the next day, my phone rang. It was the friend I went to the dance with. She said he wanted my number. I said.... ehhh, I guess lol. Sike naw, I was like "the cute Mexican-looking one? Yeah, you can give him my number!" Ha! Haven't been able to get rid of him since. And he barely knew me before asking me to prom! We've had a special connection from day ONE!
Cameron: Quick story - She told me she would never talk to me again if I didn't take her serious going into her senior year.
Erin: And he took me seriously. So now we're here!
Also, I'm so glad we got to be there for each other's graduations. He came all the way to DC for mine and I went all the way from DC to Detroit for his. We will do anything for each other and that won't ever change.
Cameron: Long story short, right after her graduation, we went to a steak house and I'm still paying this bill off. Cameron's Steak house is now closed, yes I had a steak house, and I'm mad about it!
Erin: I had to start introducing him to the finer things in life. When he mentioned this restaurant to me and he said we could go, I made that reservation so quick - HAHA! If you know Cameron, you know he is VERY money conscious. But don't be fooled, he definitely likes the finer things in life. It was both of our first times at a steakhouse, which made it even more worthwhile. This quickly became one of our favorite restaurants.
Cameron: Erin and I went to my friend's, Alex, wedding. After that wedding I had the following thought bubble: I want to give her a wedding for sure!
Erin: We danced like no one else was in the room this night. They had a beautiful wedding and I knew I couldn't wait until our turn.
Cameron: Erin showed me she was more than obsessed with me when she showed me she was obsessed with building a legacy and building something with me. We started our first company, Black and GOAL'D, I was sold!
Erin: Obsessed? He is a trip, y'all. But Black & GOAL'D really helped awaken my inner boss. It is our first business baby and this was a time where we both got to see a different side of each other. We learned how good of a team we make in life and business.
Cameron: Long story short if Erin had never moved back to DC, I would've probably never got adjusted to traveling. Probably the one thing that kept me sane during my last year of college!
Erin: Honestly, long distance did us some good. We missed each other for the year I was in DC, but when he came for the weekends we had a blast exploring the city, trying new restaurants, and hanging with friends!
Cameron: One thing I said we have to do is STAY in shape!
Erin: Working out has always been something that I struggle with. But Cameron keeps me encouraged and accountable. Plus I gotta stay fine for my husssssband! ;)
Cameron: This is when I first learned having a woman was for real expensive. Hands down best trip ever for my 25th birthday!
Cameron: Erin's 25th - she can tell y'all how I did below.
Erin: This was my first time in Miami and we had SOOOO much fun! He made this a birthday I will always remember. He upgraded us to a suite. We ate at amazing restaurants. Explored the city with friends. Cameron pays so much attention to details. He knows me so well and makes sure that everything is perfect when he does things for me. I love how thoughtful he is. I knew he was going to blow the proposal out of the park.
Erin: Now that we've built such a beautiful relationship, we decided to build a beautiful home. Our entire engagement has tested our patience: from building our home, to canceling our original wedding plans, and more. But one thing that has kept me grounded is knowing that we've built a strong foundation. I am so proud of how far we've come and it makes me even more excited to know this is just the beginning. I can't wait to marry Cameron and how much more blessed our life is once we become ONE.
Cameron: I am extremely excited to take my wife into our new house as we begin our new journey!
