IN DETAIL- GETTING TO THE ISLAND

How to get to the island (written in detail by Tom)
From the airport, you can take a taxi, train, or bus to the city or Piraeus Port.
A taxi from the airport to Piraeus Port costs 55-75 euros. You can use Uber, but they just order Local yellow taxis, and you pay via Uber. If you use a local/yellow taxi from the airport, they sometimes try to agree on cash instead of the meter, but it shouldn’t cost more than 60-70 euros.
There is a train: 11 euros each. Takes about 1 hour.

The bus can be 6 euros each (takes about 1 hour 45): https://www.rome2rio.com/map/Athens-Airport-ATH/Port-of-Piraeus#r/Bus/s/0
Once you are at the port, you have a choice of 3 ferries to take you to the island. Some of you have already pre-booked, so may just have to pick up your tickets.
The port is big, so make sure you get the taxi/end up at this point:

These are the ferry booths at that point where you can get/pick up tickets: the ferry arrives just opposite these booths.

All below three ferries get you there, so I would advise picking a ferry that suits your time the best. Note the last ferry is either 18:00 or 19:30, so make sure you arrive at the port before then, or you’ll be enjoying Athens for a night!
At Agistri- You can either go to Skala or Myli- Skala is closer to the hotel, but Tom and the owner will come pick you up at the port anyway!
Please WhatsApp or call Tom with which ferry you're getting on the day, and he will make sure he's there at the other end to pick you up.
Tom’s number is. +61433889045 or UK, +447984757712
Here is the schedule, and I will explain each ferry below:

Flying Dolphin:
This is the fastest ferry to Agistri; it typically stops at Agenia first, so make sure you get off at Agistri (normally the second stop). It goes to Skala (closest to hotel)
It’s 18 euros each way, or you can buy a return ticket if you know when you're coming back. You can buy tickets directly at the booth.

Hellenic Ferry:
Slightly nicer and bigger, can go sit on the deck, takes a little longer. It goes to Myli, a little further away, but Tom will pick you up.

Saronic Ferry
This is for your cars and vans and is the biggest one. It goes to Skala, but only at these times below:

Accomodation

As you will know by now, we have covered the bulk of accomodation for guests staying at Hotel Andreas from the 3-8th. (note there are two of these hotels, one is on the beach and the other is at the venue) you will be allocated on arrival.

For those staying for longer, i.e until Monday or Tuesday, you will just need to pay on departure for the extra night or two. The hotels prefer cash, so during the week you can find out the ammount owing and settle it on check out.

EVENTS IN DETAIL

Arrival day
Feel free to arrive anytime after 10:00. As said above, Tom will pick you up from the Port and bring you to the hotel.
For those staying elsewhere, this is the hotel where everything will be happening: https://maps.app.goo.gl/pohWd4ZZYgaZPfQz8
Welcome drinks will be at Hotel Andreas bar from 17:00 onwards, you can eat here too or move on to some of the lovely local restaurants.

Day trips
Wednesday—Boat Day. It’s 50 euros per person, and this includes drinks and snorkelling on the day. Please make sure you bring cash on the day for this. If you have RSVP already and changed your mind, please let us know. We will inform you guys times on arrival.

Thursday PM—Pub Crawl across the island—We advise either joining for the first part of this pub crawl, which is all walking distance from the hotel, or come to the second part too- which is continuing across the island, which will require renting an e-bike (around 20 euros each). We will explain on the day where to get the bikes.

Friday- Relax/recovery day, go get a massage, or stay hungover in bed. If want to do something, we advise renting scooters or e-bikes and go across the island. Or take a day trip to the island next to us, Agenia- which has shops, markets and Greek ruins.

Saturday- Wedding day

Sunday- Recovery (White Party) 11am onwards.

FAQs

Can I bring kids to the wedding?

As we are having a destination wedding, we understand many of you will be making it into a family holiday!!
We welcome kids to most of the wedding festivities, however, due to the intimate nature of our wedding day -(ceremony and reception) we do not have the space. We do hope you understand.
We will be making arrangements for a sitter whom parents are welcome to meet/greet with their kids prior to the events.
The sitter will be for the pre wedding cocktail hour, wedding ceremony and reception, so feel free to let loose, visit the kids then come back to the party! We hope that in having a sitter in close proximity, parents can enjoy themselves and still visit their kids as they wish.
We totally understand if you would prefer to take turns watching your kids for the adults only event, so please let us know on your RSVP whether it will be one or both parents attending.

Please note, we cannot make exceptions for this - we dont want anyone to feel that their kids weren't allowed but others were, so this is a blanket rule for anyone under the age of 18.

Can I bring a plus 1?

Due to the intimate nature of our venue and the limited number of spots available for the ceremony, we can only accommodate those who have been invited by name. On a case by case basis we can definitely reevaluate closer to the wedding date.

What should I wear to the wedding?

It is incredibly warm during the day, we dont expect guests to wear suits or ties, but please dress smart casual - think linen collard shirts, chinos short or long, and for girls cocktail!

Can I take pictures during the ceremony/post on social media?

You sure can! As long as your phone is on silent and you aren’t in the way of the photographer. You are also welcome to post any pictures of the wedding venue, decor, yourselves etc etc.

What kind of food will be served?

Wedding- Mediterranean Greek Cuisine !

Lots of GF, and vegetarian options will be available.
No vegans allowed at the wedding. (Jks, but sort of serious, you can’t come to Greece and not have feta, halloumi, squid or lamb!)

There are copious places to eat and drink on Agistri. Most places serve Mediterranean cuisine, however they also serve bakery food, burgers, chips etc.

Where are the nearest medical facilities?

We really hope everyone remains well and injury free, however for peace of mind there are a number of nurses and doctors attending the festivities! There is also a Medical Centre on the Island of Aegina which is a 15 minute boat ride away. For minor cuts, colds, flus etc there will be ample supplies on site. My dad is also a Doctor of Philosophy for those who may be going through an existential crisis/comedown feels.

When do I need to RSVP by?

As soon as possible would be ideal, however we totally understand the complexities of a destination wedding so would like to allow you the option of responding 'maybe' as an RSVP until Feb 2025. Please note that in responding maybe, we will notify people on our standby list that they may have a spot at the wedding. The sooner you can let us know, the better for all those involved :)
