Tristan and Tanya are from completely opposite ends of the world, but they found each other on a small island in the Caribbean. Tristan born in California and grew up in Florida, while Tanya spent most of her childhood in Malaysia and Singapore.
It took 21 years for their paths to cross and it was well worth the wait. They had an instant connection when they stumbled upon each other in the Taylor Study Hall during their first few weeks of medical school. Before Tristan built the courage to ask her out, Tanya had already made the first move. When they finally had their first date on the beach, they had no idea it would be their last first date ever!
They continued to challenge and push each other throughout medical school, while immersing themselves into the Caribbean way of life. They spent every free weekend exploring everything Grenada had to offer from hiking up to waterfalls, enjoying all the ‘under-the-counter’ rum punches on the countless white sandy beaches to swimming with the sea turtles.
Once their time on the island ended, reality hit, and they had to pick up and move to a new city to do their next years of school. They winded up in a small town where Bruce Springsteen and Jon Bon Jovi got their big breaks - Asbury Park, New Jersey. They would take walks on the boardwalk and go to their favorite Irish pub Kim Marie’s after a long day at the hospital. Soon Tristan realized that he found the one person he would not want to live without. On a cool Saturday winter morning, they went to the boardwalk to their favorite boutique coffee shop, and he dropped down on one knee and asked her if she wanted to be his companion, best friend, and wife forever.
Through the pandemic, Tristan and Tanya adopted the newest member of their family, their pup, Atlas! Together, the 3 of them have done countless road trips up and down the East Coast, in pursuit of finishing their last year of medical school. They finally finished medical school and will be soon moving to Jacksonville, Florida to start their next adventure together!
