It started with our dearly beloved Brazilian bonito who brought us together by accidentally inviting Nick over to Sophia’s team bonding dinner in Shanghai. After that, the magic began…and it was Sophia who called Nick first (really it was cause they had the same days off at the time).
Then, came their first official date…(as fortunately or unfortunately as it occurred) Nick was planning to go on a backpacking trip to Nepal in 2015, but had to make changes in his plans because of the devastating earthquake that occurred. This led him to changing his flights over to Zhangjiajie (the avatar mountains of China) instead, where Sophia became his unsuspecting guest date/adventure…
Many years later after their travel and startup adventures, they decided to take the next step in their life together. It was in London (where Nick asked Sophia) in a little dingy Airbnb at the middle of night…where he mustered his courage to ask her to marry him. Little is known as to how it occurred, but he gave her his heart ;)
Back to today! Both of them finally moved back to Shenzhen after a trialing 5 years. After surviving living abroad from each other for a year and also the coronavirus, they are both together now in their sweet Banana home (yes we made it yellow...). Plans for moving back to Vancouver are in the making though…we believe!
