Southwood Estate

Cocktail

Wear something fabulous.

The celebration will take place outside on grass, so we suggest block/wedge heels and suitable attire for a warm summer evening.

Afterparty

We're keeping the party going with s'mores and a silent disco. Onsite from 11 PM - 1 AM.

Transportation

Busses will be provided between Hudson and Southwood Estate before and after the celebration.

Busses to Southwood Estate will stop at three locations in Hudson. Please arrive early as the bus will not wait for anyone.

- Bus departing The Wick Hotel at 4:00 PM

- Bus departing Wylde Hudson (Partition Street side) at 4:00 PM

- Bus departing Rivertown Lodge at 4:00 PM

Busses back to Hudson after the wedding will depart at the following times and stop at The Wick Hotel, Wylde Hudson, and Rivertown Lodge in Hudson: 10 PM, 11 PM, 12 AM, 1 AM

Parking is available onsite if you are planning to drive to Southwood Estate, but there are only two golf carts to shuttle guests from the parking lot to the ceremony and reception site, so we suggest taking the bus.

Ubers/Lyfts are difficult to find in Hudson. If you need a ride, we suggest scheduling one in advance.

We love the Rivertown Lodge for its quaint upstate feel and convenience to upper Warren Street. It's also home to a cozy tavern and patio.

Airbnb

Airbnb is a great option for larger groups or those looking for more affordable accommodations. Just make sure your Airbnb is on or within walking distance of Warren Street in Hudson, where bus transportation will pick up and drop off. (We suggest staying on or south of Warren St. rather than north, it's a bit nicer.)

Other options

We haven't personally stayed at these inns, but they are located in prime downtown Hudson and are lesser-known, so they may have availability:

- Batterby House

- The Howard Hotel

- St. Charles Hotel

- Hudson Whaler

- The Hudson Milliner

Things to do (and eat)
Things to do (and eat)
MOTO Coffee/Machine

Grab a coffee (or chai latte) at this motorcycle shop-slash-coffee spot before breakfast.

Hudson Roastery

Grab a coffee and pick up a bag of Matt's favorite beans (dark roast!). Come back in the evening for a glass of wine and one of their famous charcuterie boards.

Le Perche

If you're looking for brunch, look no further. This French spot is our go-to for a gourmet omelet or breakfast sandwich. It's also home to Suze's dad's favorite croissant outside of Paris.

Cafe Mutton

Bon Appétit and NY Times have both rated this brunch spot one of the top restaurants in the country - and we couldn't agree more. Go at 10 AM when they open and get one of everything. You won't regret it.

The Maker Café

You can't miss The Maker! This gorgeous café on Warren Street is perfect for a light lunch or breakfast before a day of shopping. Think chickpea sandwiches, soups, and pastries.

Feast & Floret

This flower shop/restaurant right off Warren Street is ideal for a farm-to-table dinner in a super cozy environment.

Wm. Farmer & Son

A dark and cozy spot for dinner or a drink. It's a short walk from Warren Street and offers a delicious, locally-sourced menu.

Swoon Kitchenbar

Dubbed "the original farm-to-table restaurant," we love Swoon for its fresh dishes and relaxed environment. A great dinner option!

Kitty’s Market

A delicious stop for artisanal groceries, prepared foods, and 10/10 breakfast sandwiches located directly across from the Amtrak station. Hit it on your way out of town!

The Maker bar and restaurant

You can't come to Hudson and not have a drink or a meal at The Maker. Come early for a drink at the stunning bar (their innovative cocktails don't disappoint) and stay for dinner in the beautiful atrium. This is our absolute favorite spot in Hudson.

Talbot & Arding

If you love cheese and cured meat even half as much as Suze does, you're going to love this artisinal market located a stones throw away from Warren Street.

Olde Hudson Market & Café

They carry everything from farm-fresh veggies to frozen, locally sourced cuts of meat. This market is a must-go before you leave town. They'll even pack your goodies on ice so they stay fresh for the drive home (we've done it!).

Shopping on Warren Street

Hudson is known for its incredible antique and home good stores. Make sure you check them out - they're all along Warren Street for your convenience. A few of our faves are Gestalt, Minna, Clove & Creek, 314 Hudson, Magic Hill, and Finch.

Kaaterskill Falls

Our favorite place near Hudson to hike. Kaaterskill Falls has tons of different trails of varying difficulty and some of the best views in the area.

Our favorite trails

Olana

A gorgeous history mansion on a hill overlooking the Hudson. Tour the house, walk the grounds, or hike one of the many trails.

Art Omi

A non-profit arts center with a 120-acre sculpture and architecture park and gallery, Art Omi is a quick drive from Hudson and is totally free to visit. Register online ahead of time to guarantee entrance.
