The first time we met!

So it all started this night! Our mutual friend got married in Chicago in April of 2017.  By divine intervention or a fortunate seating arrangement by our friends we sat across from one another. We met again on the dance floor which led to a evening of dancing, laughing, talking and having an amazing time. By the end of the night we were still all smiles and who knew that this picture would lead to many more to come...keep reading!

The first date!

We kept in touch over the next few weeks and true to his word, KC hopped on a plane and just over one month following the wedding we had our first official date! We kept it simple and went out for dinner in Ann Arbor the first night with a quick trip across the river to Canada and evening cocktails in Detroit that weekend. Some of the biggest things we learned after this weekend was that we both love the holiday season, love our families, enjoy a good cup of coffee (or two) and a tall beer...and as it turns out we are both pretty competitive and really enjoy silly bets. So with that, we decided to do something we never thought either of us would do, we gave long distance dating a shot!

Meeting the family and friends!

We filled the rest of 2017 with a lot of "firsts" for us! We met close family and friends, shared our first holidays, and rang in the new year together. Guess what? We survived 2017 all with a smile!

2018!

2018 was action packed and we went on our first vacation together where we took a road trip from DC down to North Carolina. We hiked, ate amazing food, and did tons of sightseeing...not to mention surviving a week in a car together! That year, Suma made her first trip out to the country farm in Arkansas where KC grew up and even picked a cotton boll or two!

We made long distance work with a lot of phone conversations, some FaceTime date nights and we made it a point to see each other as often as possible.  After just over a year of dating and many more firsts, KC packed up and relocated to Chicago!

2019!

2019 started with off with a bang and the year was filled with lots of family time and new beginnings for us. From our immediate families meeting for the first time to having dinners and sharing laughs or just hanging out together, the year allowed us to grow stronger, get to know each other better and fall more in love BUT someone was busy making a plans to pop the question soon but when? Hmmm!

It's that time :)

Well all roads lead us here! We headed off to Switzerland for a trip that we would soon never forget. We enjoyed our fill of good wine, delicious gelato and amazing European dishes and celebrated 2 years of our relationship. However, while Suma was busy with a few work commitments for part of the trip, KC was off mapping a trip to Italy in a plan to pop the question!

AND THEN...that moment that a lot  of us dream about, that moment that we plan for, that feeling of knowing who we want to share the rest of our lives with, the one we love...KC asked for Suma's hand in marriage (and thankfully) she accepted and now.....

Wedding Time!

Now we get to share our big day with all of you! We have traveled different roads in our past but thankfully our paths crossed and from now on we get to travel this path together. All of you mean so much to us and each of you have made a difference in our lives. As we begin our future together as husband and wife we want you to know how much we love you all and how blessed we are to call you family and dear friends. Now lets celebrate!

Cheers and much love!

Suma & KC

Well change of plans! As we all know, the world was brought to a screeching halt in 2020 due to Coronavirus! However, that didn't stop us!

We got married!!

On May 9th, 2020 we were married in an intimate ceremony surrounded by our immediate family. The ceremony was hosted in the backyard of Suma's brother and sister-in law's home. Suma's nephews served as the ring bearers and DJ and Suma's mom and dad were able to escort her down the aisle. KC's mom and sisters were able to travel from Arkansas to attend with KC's youngest niece. Although KC's dad wasn't physically at the wedding, his memory and image was seen and felt. We also were able to share the day with our close family and friends via Zoom, well before the phone overheated on a beautiful, sunny 55 degree day! We thank all of our family and friends that made that day possible. We will forever remember and cherish that day!

COVID Honeymoon 2020!
Our honeymoon plans had to pivot from traveling to Croatia to an epic roadtrip out east to explore and celebrate. Our first stop took us Niagara Falls where we stayed overnight and had a chance to check out the beautiful waterfalls. After a night there we kept out east to our next big stop in Acadia, Maine where we got a chance to explore the beautiful national park and take in our fair share of fresh lobster. After a few days in Acadia, we headed south to Martha's Vineyard where we spent a few days on the lake enjoying some fine dining and local attractions. The honeymoon roadtrip allowed us to explore some of the most beautiful backroads and fall colors you could imagine, not to mention good breweries, good food and catching up with friends along the way. So what could top this?
Parents to be!

Our Family Is Growing! After a whirlwind 2020, the beginning of 2021 we were blessed with news of us expecting a baby! We think it may be time for a vacation to celebrate, perhaps a babymoon!

Babymoon 2021!
To celebrate our one year anniversary and the fact that we are parents-to-be, we got masked up and swabbed up (for Covid) boarded the plane and headed to the beautiful state of Hawaii in celebration of our Babymoon! Our first stop was to beautiful Honolulu to take in the history of Pearl Harbor and enjoy some nightlife of the city. Our next stop took us on an adventure on the big island of Hawaii where we explored volcanoes, watch the sunrise from 10k feet and Suma even snorkeled with manta rays! Our last stop took us to beautiful Maui where we traveled across the entire island on our road to Hana, took in a pineapple tour and KC finally joined Suma for a little snorkeling. Hawaii was just the trip we needed to relax, rejuvenate and reflect on the many blessings in in our lives.
IT'S A GIRL!!!!

Guess what we are brewing?!? A little girl! We are beyond excited and can't wait to meet our baby girl. Our little bundle of joy is expected to make an appearance in October 2021! A lot of changes have taken place over the past year and we are looking forward to celebrating life, love and a little baby girl with you all!

Love,

KC and Suma!
