Sue Sriharan

Sitara and I met at Chinmaya Mission camp before the 8th grade. We immediately hit it off and were inseparable that week and the coming time after. We lost touch (since neither of us had cell phones at the time), but fate brought us back together when we found each other in the Class of 2015 facebook group for Case Western. Sitara sent me a message asking if I was the same person from the camp just as I was talking to my mom about her name being super familiar. I always remembered it because it was so close to my brother’s name. We reunited during orientation and little did I know I was becoming best friends with the most popular person in history. People would know me solely because of her social media. The number of times I got “Oh, you’re Sue, Sitara’s friend!” could probably fill the pages of all the Harry Potter books. She also became the friend everyone asked where she was when she wasn’t with me. After graduation, it became “How is Sitara?” But there is no one else I’d rather have attached to me.
The worst thing about Sitara is she knows all my secrets. Every year when we got a new team full of freshman who thought I was a cool person, she would tell them that I taught myself Dhamaka by putting food in the microwave and practicing up and down the hallway until it went off. Every. Year. The demise of my coolness began when I told Sitara that secret. I am sure she will never let me live that one down. Her children will know the story when they become dancing stars like her. She is the only person who can embarrass me and get away with it unscathed.
Sitara has always been one of my biggest support systems, through college and after. She pushed me to try out for Case Kismat with her, even though it was completely outside my comfort zone, and it became the source of a lot of my fondest memories during college. She was there for me whenever I called her crying and she made sure my RBF didn’t show. She held my hand through all competitions and is the sole reason I was immersed in the Indian community at Case.
I have had the honor of watching Sitara blossom through into the beautiful, extremely successful individual she has become, and she is undoubtedly the most deserving. From the day she met Prem and knew he was the one to when they started dating to getting engaged in, I am so happy I was able to be there for all of it and can’t wait to stand by her side as she marries the man of her dreams.
Oh, and Prem is pretty cool too.

P.S. Never tell Sitara your most embarrassing secret. She will tell everyone.

So I met Sitara my freshman year of college during our first Case Kismat practice of the year, and two things were clear: 1. She is a Superstar-a. 2. She has some sort of extreme facebook skills (or addiction perhaps?). So naturally very confused but also me being me I’m like “I need to be this person minus the FB addiction.” Fast forward a couple years and she is President of our dance team, and naturally following in her footsteps to also be a “Superstar-a” one day (or Natash-ara? Super-tash? Not sure) I was the Vice President. Wow I’m just realizing this is sounding super creepy like that movie where the girl wants to be her roommate and take over her life and be exactly like her ? Not sure what it’s called but I swear that’s not where this is going.. Sitara was my *inspo*. During her year as President, I knew if I wanted to be the next president I needed to learn everything I could from Sitara. Everyone loved her, she was incredibly intelligent, and truly brought our dance team to new heights – she’s actually perfect!!! So I was always the first one to ask her if I could ride with her to our executive board meetings and practices and after many many silent, awkward car rides and probably sharing a lot of embarrassing stuff about myself that may or may not have made her uncomfortable, Sitara became my new BFF and my forever inspiration (we already knew this tho). She also became my mom’s “first and favorite daughter,” which I truly have no explanation for but is maybe worth mentioning. Through college and up until now, Sitara hasn’t just been someone I’ve looked up to, but she is truly the most caring human on this earth. She has become “home” for me, the first person I go to for the good news and the bad news, my future bridemaid, and so so much more.

Sitara and I met on the first day of medical school orientation. We started off as study buddies as I thrived off her immense medical knowledge to a growing friendship in which we shared our passion for chocolate/any type of dessert, Bollywood movies, dancing, and so much more. We slowly became the best of friends and I could not have imagined the past four years of medical school without her by my side. She has been my biggest supporter and greatest confidant throughout this crazy journey and I have loved crossing so many milestones in medical school together. Now I can't wait to stand by her side on her biggest day yet and third wheel her and Prem forever!

Sitara and I met 4 years ago on the first day of medical school orientation. Since then we have not only become close friends, but also roommates! From dancing together in talent show to cuddling Dolce to sitting on the couch and watching bollywood movies together, Sitara and I have shared many crazy and fun memories together. I am so honored to be part of her bridal party and SO excited to officially welcome Prem to our little family <3

Sitakka and I met in our Arya dance classes over 10 years ago! We went from dancing in ugly costumes to creating an absolutely beautiful friendship over the years! We’ve shared all the laughs, vented all of our frustrations, and achieved so many things with the support of each other- and now I cant wait to watch her through another huge milestone and gain a new bff- Prem! ❤️

Vasudha Sadana

I’m a proud bridesmaid, longtime friend, and neighbor of Sitara. I feel blessed to have had such an beautiful, smart, athletic, and kind person in my life. I can’t say enough nice things about my girl! She is going to make an amazing resident, doctor, and wife, and I’m honored that Im going to get to know her through it all!

I met Sitara because we were on board together for BA 2015. I met her during a really dark time in my life and she was (as her name suggests) a HUGE bright spot during that time. The best part? She didn’t even know this till MUCH later as our friendship blossomed into what it is today. Anyone that knows me knows I’m notoriously bad at texting back as is Sitara (hehe) but for about three years and counting my day still isn’t complete until I’ve heard from her ❤ I’m so honored to be by her side through thick & thin and hopefully (as cheesy as this sounds) forever as she accomplishes so much more and blossoms into an even more beautiful person than she already is.

Admittedly I am not sure what I should be including here. I met Sitara by chance on BA board, she wasn’t the partner I wanted (originally) but I figured whatever. Fast forward a few years and I can’t really describe how instrumental she’s been to my growth and success as an individual... and my demise in social groups. For people who see my face at this wedding and wonder why I look familiar, it’s because Sitara has posted embarrassing pictures of me every. week. For nearly 60 consecutive weeks. The upside of dealing with this is you end up with one of the most genuinely caring individuals becoming family.
