No dudéis en escribirnos con cualquier duda o recomendación que necesitéis, pero por adelantado, os dejamos aquí alguno de los planes que sin duda os recomendamos hacer!

Hello everyone! In this section, we’d like to offer some tips to those of you who are traveling to Miami from far away regarding things to do in the area either prior to or after the actual wedding day. We know this change in destination is quite drastic, and we apologize for those who were so excited to get to know Galicia. That being said, Miami has some great things to offer as well! Before you are quick to judge this city based on what you’ve seen in movies and 80’s tv series, let us show you some parts of this city you may not be familiar with.
South Beach
Siendo diciembre, estamos seguros que muchos de vosotros estaréis deseando sacar a pasear ese blanco nuclear y morenear un poquito antes de la boda. Una buena opción, y si es la primera vez en Miami una obligatoria, es South Beach. Después de la playa, aprovechad para dar un paseo por Ocean Drive y si queréis aprovechad para ir de compras, en Lincoln Road encontrareis todo lo que necesitéis.

We know most of you will probably be interested in visiting a beach - especially because it’s something you can actually do here in the winter! South Beach is Miami’s most famous beach and is located just steps from Lincoln Road, a 10-block pedestrian esplanade with shopping, dining, nightlife and people-watching. This beach is typically more crowded and attracts many tourists, so beware of the tourist traps!
Key Biscayne
Otra Buena opción es la isla de Key Biscayne (Cayo Vizcaino). Esta playa es más tranquila y familiar. Podéis aprovechad y visitar Crandon Park o Bill Baggs Cape Florida State Park. En este último, id hasta el final y visitar el faro. Hay opciones de restaurantes dentro del parque (Boater’s Grille) o podéis comer en el pueblito.

Another option for a beach day is traveling to an island called Key Biscayne. It is about a 20 minute drive from South Beach and is more laid-back and family oriented. This island is where the Miami Open Tennis tournament is hosted every year, and where you can also find some nice boutiques and restaurants. There is also a beautiful urban park called Crandon Park on Key Biscayne that is worth visiting.
No podéis visitar Miami sin pasar por la Calle 8. Bien sea para un cafecito cubano desde la ‘ventanita’, un helado en Azúcar, o mejor aún, un buen mojito en Ball & Chain, planead un par de horas para visitar este barrio. Para acabar la visita, si estáis cerca de la hora de comer, id por una ‘ropa vieja’ al Versailles, el restaurante cubano más emblemático de la zona.

Little Havana is Miami’s vibrant Cuban heart, with Latin American art galleries and restaurants. You could take a walk on Calle Ocho (SW 8th Street) to grab a Cuban coffee from a walk-up window or "ventanita" and watch locals playing dominoes at Maximo Gomez Park, also known as Domino Park. The historic Tower Theater screens independent and revival films, while the area's clubs, like Ball & Chain, host live Latin music.
Vizcaya
El Museo y Jardines de Vizcaya es la antigua villa y finca del empresario James Deering en Biscayne Bay en el barrio de Coconut Grove. La finca de Vizcaya de principios del siglo XX incluye: extensos jardines renacentistas italianos, paisajes de bosques nativos y un complejo histórico de edificios anexos.

The Vizcaya Museum and Gardens is the former villa and estate of businessman James Deering on Biscayne Bay in the present day Coconut Grove neighborhood. The beautiful early 20th century Vizcaya estate includes: extensive Italian Renaissance gardens, native woodland landscape, and a historic village outbuildings compound.
Kampong
El Kampong es un jardín botánico de 9 acres en el barrio de Coconut Grove. Es uno de los cinco jardines del Jardín Botánico Tropical Nacional y está abierto a los visitantes de miércoles a viernes con reserva.

Fairchild Tropical Botanic Garden
Fairchild Tropical Botanic Garden es un jardín botánico de 83 acres con extensas colecciones de plantas tropicales raras. Exhibe muchas esculturas del famoso artista del vidrio Dale Chihuly y también alberga la famosa exhibición de mariposas, Wings of the Tropics.

Los Everglades es uno de los parques más grandes de los Estados Unidos, donde puede realizar caminatas cortas, hacer kayak, dar un paseo en hidrodeslizador o si estáis en buena forma y tenéis una mañana libre, montar en bicicleta en Shark Valley. Es el hogar de todo tipo de vida silvestre, incluidos cocodrilos, manatíes, aves e incluso panteras. Siguiendo la calle ocho hacia el Oeste, a unos 30 minutos, os encontrareis varios sitos que ofrecen excursiones en el hidrodeslizadores. Os dejamos un link aquí debajo de uno de ellos, pero cualquiera de los que están esa zona son parecidos y están bien.

The Everglades is one of the largest parks in the United States, where you can go on short walks, go kayaking, take a ride on an airboat, or a bike ride in Shark Valley. It is home to all kinds of wildlife including crocodiles, manatees, birds, and even panthers. Below is a link to one of the airboat excursions, although there are plenty to choose from.
Key West, el punto más al sur de los Estados Unidos, es famoso por los deportes acuáticos, la animada vida nocturna, las playas, los lugares históricos y su arquitectura. Puede pasar el día comiendo Key Lime Pie y visitando la Casa y Museo de Ernest Hemingway y la noche en Duval Street, llena de tiendas, bares y cafés. Key West se encuentra a 3 horas en coche desde Miami, por lo que le sugerimos pasar al menos una noche allí si tiene tiempo suficiente. Si no tenéis más de un día para llegar a Key West, una muy buena opción para explorar los Cayos, es Key Largo, aproximadamente una hora y media de Miami. Desde Key Largo hay varias excursiones para hacer snorkel/scuba en uno de los arrecifes de coral más grande del planeta, extremadamente recomendada!

Key West, the southernmost point in the United States, is famous for water-sports, lively nightlife, beaches, historic sites and its pastel, conch-style architecture. You can spend the day eating key lime pie and visiting the Ernest Hemingway Home and Museum and the night on Duval Street, full of shops, bars, and cafes. Key West is a 3 hour drive from Miami so we suggest spending at least one night there if you have sufficient time. If you don't have more than a day to spare, another great option for exploring the keys is Key Largo, only an hour and a half away from Miami. You could do either a snorkeling or scuba diving excursion to explore the 3rd largest coral barrier reef in the world! Highly recommended.
