Our love story is one for the books—a tale of serendipity, resilience, and unwavering partnership. A journey that began in 2016, fate brought us together as neighbors in the UMKC six-year medical program. Shaan, with his vibrant energy and endless chatter, immediately noticed Karina’s brilliance, beauty, and sharp wit. It wasn’t long before our friendship blossomed into something extraordinary.
Together, we tackled the rollercoaster ride of undergrad and medical school, leaning on each other through sleepless nights, endless exams, and the chaos of hospital rotations. As if that wasn’t enough, the universe threw us into a global pandemic, but even in the most challenging times, we found joy and strength in each other.
We conquered long-distance while simultaneously earning our master’s degrees. and, against all odds, our hard work and determination paid off when we matched *together* in anesthesiology at Washington University in St. Louis. While residency has been incredibly busy, our love has only grown stronger. We even grew into a little family when we adopted our dog, Rocky!
Now, after nearly a decade of laughter, love, and shared dreams, we are excited to embark on our greatest adventure yet. We can’t wait to celebrate our love with all of you—get ready for a day filled with joy, love, and memories to last a lifetime!
