Itinerary

OVERVIEW

We will be renting transportation to take us on a private day tour of the Reykjanes Peninsula. We will depart our hotel at 11:00am and travel Southwest with stops at the famous Reykjanes Lighthouse and Bridge Between Two Continents before arriving at the Blue Lagoon for some relaxation. We will end the night with dinner at the Lava Restaurant before making the drive back to the hotel.

QUICK FACTS ABOUT THE BLUE LAGOON

The Blue Lagoon is not natural and formed in 1976.

The average temperature of the water is 39°C (102°F) all year round.

The warm seawater is rich with minerals such as silica that do wonders for your skin.

National Geographic named it one of the top 25 Wonders of the World, and Condé Nast Traveller included it on a list of the top 10 spas in the world.

Pre-booking is required. We recommend booking at least six to eight weeks in advance.

You can choose between comfort level, premium entry, or the retreat spa.

The water in the Blue Lagoon completely renews itself every 48 hours.

RSVP Note

Use the RSVP link here on this website to let us know that you and your family will be joining us on this adventure. We will use this count to reserve a van large enough to accommodate everyone.

Reserve your entrance into the Blue Lagoon in advance via the link here: https://www.bluelagoon.com/book/calendar

Please reserve the 3 PM timeslot. There is no limit to how long you can spend in the lagoon, and most people want to spend at least two hours in it.

You'll want to book your entry slot well in advance, as it is the most popular attraction in Iceland, and it does sell out almost every day.

Dinner

LAVA RESTAURANT

We have 7:00 PM reservations for everyone at the Lava Restaurant on Blue Lagoon property.

The restaurant is built into a 800-year-old lava cliff, so behind the floor to ceiling windows facing the blue waters is an entire wall of lava rock. The menu consists mainly of traditional Icelandic ingredients, with emphasis on the wild and flavorful.

Attire
Relaxed fine dining from open to close.

OVERVIEW

Tuesday, September 7th, we have rented transportation for everyone to travel to the Snaefellsnes Peninsula for two days of wedding festivities.

Hótel Búðir - Where We Begin
Itinerary

A day for celebrating!

The exact itinerary will be a surprise (even for Scott and I!) all planned by our lovely photographer/'Elopement Yoda' - Steph. What we do know:

Getting Ready

The day will start with a girls-only getting ready party in our Bridal Suite. The men will have their own getting ready party in the Groom's room.

First Looks

We will do first-looks and family photos in front of the beautiful black church located on hotel property.

The Ceremony & Adventure

We will all pile into our two rental vans and travel the Snaefellsnes Peninsula with Steph. At some point along this 6 hour adventure together, we will have our wedding ceremony!

Photography Time

Scott and Prestyn will venture off for just a short time to take a few more glamour shots while our guests will be on another Steph planned adventure.

Dinner and Drinks

We will reconvene at the hotel for celebratory drinks and dinner!
