Things To Do In The Area

RESTAURANTS

For pub fare and an impressive selection of beers, The Cask & Rasher is a local favorite just down the road from Owls Hoot Barn.

For coffee and some great sandwiches, The Yellow Deli is a sweet spot for lighter fare. Note: closed on Saturdays

For a nice Italian dinner in the small but charming historic area of Coxsackie, Che Figata is a great place for dinner.

Chrissy & Tim's diner is everything you want in a local greasy spoon. Open for breakfast and lunch.

For good sandwiches and thoughtfully curated provisions (craft beers, condiments, etc.)  Mansion + Reed is a lovely general store in the historic district of Coxsackie.

About 15 minutes away from Coxsackie is Athens, NY. The Stewart House operates The River Grill right on the Hudson. It's the perfect place for a cocktail and wood-fired BBQ. This is where we are planning on gathering on Friday night for drinks and live music. The Stewart House also operates a more upscale restaurant, the ca.1883 Tavern, inside their hotel. This is where we are holding our farewell brunch on Sunday.

Also in Athens is Bonfiglio & Bread, a cozy bakery with coffee & tea, great sandwiches, soups, salads, and lots of breakfast items.

If you want to venture across the Rip Van Winkle Bridge (20 min) to the impossibly charming town of Hudson, there are excellent restaurants galore. A few of our favorites are Fish & Game, Little Deb's Oasis, and the tavern at Rivertown Lodge.
