Click here to see the location of the elevators that will take you up to the Nafplia Palace (beware... they are old!).  Otherwise you can take a quick taxi or steep uphill walk to get to the main entrance of the hotel!

We will be having a Greek Orthodox ceremony. 

We will meet at the port in Nafplio at 3:10pm (here)  to hop on a bus to the church (5 minute drive).

Where is Nafplio?

Nafplio is in the Peloponnese, ~2 hours southwest of Athens by car.   Transportation options listed below. 

We have booked a bus departing at 1:30pm from Stiles Olimpiou Dios ("Hadrian's Arch") in central Athens.   Please let Sarah & Costa know if you would like to be on this shuttle and we will ensure there is space.  

Option 1 - Rent a Car

Rent a car at the airport. It is approximately a two hour drive to Nafplio on the major highways.  Parking can be difficult in the Old Town of Nafplio so it's a good idea to ask if your hotel/AirBnB has a spot.  

**Note:  if you plan on renting a car, you must have an "International Drivers License".  This is easy to obtain and costs ~$25 but you must do this before you land in Greece. **

OPTION 2 - BOOK A TAXI

Rent a private taxi from Athens airport to Nafplio. This should cost about €150 for four people.  The team at Discover Nafplio can book this service for you.

OPTION 3 - TAKE THE PUBLIC BUS

Take the public bus from the airport.  First you take the X93 bus or the M3 metro from the airport to Athens Kifisou bus station. From the airport to the central bus station of Athens takes about 90 minutes.  From there you can find a bus to Nafplio. It is approximately a 2 hour journey.

To know before you go...

We are so appreciative that you are making the effort to travel during this difficult time!   

Please make sure you read about all of the travel requirements to/from Greece (as well as any other country you might plan to visit during your trip - AND any country you might have a layover in!).   What we can tell you we know right now is:

- You must fill out a "Passenger Locator Form" (PLF) prior to checking into your flight.  You can do this here: https://travel.gov.gr/#/

- You must show proof of full vaccination OR a negative PCR test taken 72 hours of departure to travel to Greece.  You can print off your vaccination receipt at this website: https://covid19.ontariohealth.ca/

- You do not currently require a Covid test to enter Greece, but you will require one to return to Toronto.  This must be taken within 72 hours of departure from Greece and it must be a PCR (not anti-gen) test.  If you need any help booking this test let us know.   If you need to get the PCR test in Nafplio, you can contact : em_kouri@otenet.gr to book your appointment.

- Bring masks!  They are required indoors.  Currently, all restaurants/cafes in Greece are only open for outdoor service.
